Shu-Park Chan's personal data
1929 10 10, Shu-Park Chan was born in Maoming, Guangdong (now Gaozhou). His father, Chen, served as commander-in-chief of the Eighth Route Army, commander-in-chief of the First Regiment, and member of the Standing Committee of the Southwest Government Affairs Committee. He was in charge of military and political power in Guangdong Province for eight years. His mother Mo Shuying (pronounced "Xiu" and "Shu" in Cantonese, and mistakenly called "Xiuying" in the neighborhood) is from Maoming (Gaozhou) County, Guangdong Province, and has been living with her husband since marriage. When he was born, Chen was in military affairs. Mo Xiuying felt that it was inconvenient to have a baby there, so she returned to Maoming from Wuzhou military camp to wait for her family to have a baby. Soon, Shu-Park Chan was born smoothly.

Chen has 18 children. Among them, Mo Xiuying has 7 men and 4 women. They were either born in Maoming or studied in Maoming. It is said that they never went back to their father's hometown Fangcheng. Especially during the Anti-Japanese War, the whole family lived in Maoming. Bai Shu brothers grew up in Deming Middle School in Gaozhou, and their memories are particularly profound. So when Dr. Shu-Park Chan gave a lecture in Nanning 1985, he said, "I'm from Maoming." Because Chen is away on official business, the burden of educating children naturally falls on Mo Xiuying's shoulders. Mo Xiuying is well disciplined and strict with her children. Family rules are: respect the old and love the young, honor parents and obey their instructions; Children should listen to adults and be polite to outsiders. Therefore, the brothers and sisters of the Chen family never treat others rudely and bully the weak and fear the hard like the children of some powerful and evil gentry. They have all grown up and graduated from universities. They are either scientists or entrepreneurs. Among them, there are 4 doctors and 2 masters.
