Wu Zhongwei was elected as an academician of China Academy of Engineering with 1994 and a senior academician with 1998. He has published more than 100 academic papers, 8 monographs and 1 poems at home and abroad. More than 20 doctors and masters have been trained. In view of his outstanding contribution to the research of cement concrete materials and technology, he was awarded the ho leung ho lee foundation 1999 Technical Science Award.
On February 4th, 2000, Wu Zhongwei died of illness at the age of 82. Wu Zhongwei devoted his whole life to the development of inorganic nonmetallic materials science and technology in China, especially the innovation of concrete science and technology and the cultivation of professional talents.
