During War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression's period, he served as the teacher of Northern Shaanxi Public School, the battalion commander of the first branch of China People's Anti-Japanese Military and Political University, the chief of staff of the independent guerrilla detachment of the Hebei-Shandong-Henan Military Region, the head of the newly compiled seventh regiment of the third brigade, the deputy brigade commander of the seventh brigade, and the commander of Shuidong Military Division. During the War of Liberation, he served as commander of the Fifth (Southwest Shandong) Military Division of the Hebei-Shandong-Henan Military Region, chief of staff and deputy commander of the Third Military Division, and brigade commander of the Second Independent Brigade of the North China Military Region. After the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC), he served as commander, deputy commander and principal of the Eighth Infantry School in Huxi Military Division of Pingyuan Province. 1955, he was awarded the rank of major general.
