Ning American reform and the struggle between old and new parties
After Zong Shen ascended the throne, he was deeply worried about the poverty and weakness in the Northern Song Dynasty and admired Wang Anshi's talent. So after he acceded to the throne, he ordered Wang Anshi to carry out political reform and revitalize the Northern Song Dynasty. This is Wang Anshi's political reform, which is also the Xining political reform in the United States. Under the auspices of Wang Anshi, new laws such as average loss, young crops, irrigation and water conservancy, exemption from service, market exchange, insurance, land equalization tax and horse insurance were promulgated one after another.
The new law covers almost all aspects of society, but it is too hasty and has advantages and disadvantages. Lu Dian, a scholar in the Northern Song Dynasty, said: When Yuanfeng was founded, there were tens of millions of tickets and countless square dollars. At that time, the cultivated land area increased greatly, reaching 700 million mu nationwide, and the urban commodity economy achieved unprecedented development.
However, the reform met with fierce opposition from the old school, and Sima Guang, Fan Zhen and Zhao Zhan in the imperial court wrote in succession to express their dissatisfaction with the new law. Sima Guang and Lv Huiqing argued endlessly about Miao law before the emperor. The new law lasted for nearly twenty years until Sima Guang used it up.
During this period, Zongshen was hit hard in the face of the double resistance of the imperial court and the harem. Empress Dowager Gao even said to her: Wang Anshi, the world is in chaos! Zhao Hao, king of Qi, also persuaded Zongshen to obey the imperial edict of Empress Dowager Cixi. Zong Shen was very unhappy and angrily accused the King of Qi, saying that you should be emperor. The king of Qi was so scared that he burst into tears.
Relationship with Xixia
When Xia was in power, the mother party Liang was authoritarian, and the situation in Xixia was increasingly divided, trying to annihilate it in one fell swoop. Wang Shao defeated Xia Jun in Qingzhou and occupied two thousand miles of land in Xixia. However, in the battle of Yongle City, the soldiers did not dare to use it in the north, but tried it in the west. In the battle of Lingwu, they lost their teachers and generals and burned millions of coal. In the middle of the night, the emperor got up, walked around on the sofa and had to sleep.
The act of destroying summer failed to come true. Afterwards, Song Shenzong cried in public in court. He was ambitious, made great efforts to destroy Xiqiang, and was disappointed that his ambition was not rewarded. Yuanfeng died with a grudge in eight years, at the age of 37. After his son Song Zhezong came to power, he tried his best to fulfill his father's wishes.
Comments: Although he was in office for only seventeen years, he was an ambitious and accomplished emperor in the Song Dynasty. He supported Wang Anshi and devoted himself to the goal of making Qiang Bing rich.
