Yang Lihua is the eldest daughter of Emperor Wendi of the Sui Dynasty, Emperor Wendi of the Sui Dynasty and the empress of the Northern Zhou Dynasty.

Yang Lihua (AD 56 1 ~ AD 609) was born in Huayin County, Hongnong County (now huayin city, Shaanxi Province), after Emperor Yuwen Yun was proclaimed in the Northern Zhou Dynasty. In the second year of Jiande in the Northern Zhou Dynasty (AD 573), Yang Lihua became the princess of Yu Wenyun, Prince of the Northern Zhou Dynasty. After Yu Wenlai ascended the throne, he made him queen, and was later named Queen Tianyuan and Queen Datian Tianyuan.

After Yu Wenyun's death, Emperor Wendi usurped the throne, established the Sui Dynasty, and named Yang Lihua Princess Leping. In the fifth year of Daye (AD 609), Yang Lihua died while touring Zhangye (now Zhangye City, Gansu Province) with Emperor Yang Di Yang Guang, and was buried in Dingling. Later scholars spoke highly of Yang Lihua. Linghu Defen and Sima Guang, the historians of the Tang Dynasty, thought that she was gentle and sincere, and had no jealousy, which earned her the respect of the palace concubines.

Yang Lihua's Life Experience

In the first year of Xiang Dynasty (AD 579), Yu passed the throne to Prince Yuwen Chan, who was only nine years old, calling himself Emperor Tianyuan, and Queen Yang Lihua was Queen Tianyuan. Soon, Yu Li's biological mother Zhu Weidi, his concubine yuanshi county as the right queen, and his concubine Chen as the left queen, tied for four queens with Yang Lihua.

In February of the following year, Yu wrote another imperial edict, adding the word "big" to the titles of the queens, and the title of Yang Lihua became the Grand Queen of Tianyuan; In March, Yu Li's concubine, Wei Chi, became the queen of Tian Dong University, and tied with Yang Lihua for five queens. When Yang Lihua and Yu Wenyun's daughter, E Ying of Yu Wen, grew up, Emperor Wendi of Sui Dynasty summoned the aristocratic children to Hongsheng Palace, and Yang Lihua personally selected the son-in-law. Yang Lihua, sitting in a tent, ordered these noble children to introduce their expertise and examine their talents.
