Some people began to question, isn't King Tota Li Jing? You can't be Lee. There are two Li Jing, one is General Chen Tangguan in the Shang Dynasty, and the other is the God of War in the Tang Dynasty. Both of them are named Li Jing. But neither of them is the king of Tota. More precisely, Li is the king of Tota. It originated from Li's great merit in Buddhism before his death, and he was moved by Tathagata, who was awarded the priesthood of King Tota.
During the reign of Li Yuan, from the fourth year of Wude to the ninth year of Wude, Fu Yi wrote to the emperor seven times, demanding that the Buddha be abolished, and Li Yuan also intended to abolish the Buddha. Prince Li's opinion was specially sought for this matter. Li said so. Buddhism stresses the equality of all beings, which is unmatched by Confucianism and Taoism. Ancient sages have always respected Buddhism. It is true that some people become fake monks because they are lazy, but more people are like mirrors. When they go to the temple, they really practice, realize the Tao and become Buddhas. Life is miserable, and there are countless believers in places where Buddhism provides spiritual comfort. If we want to abolish Buddhism, it will only lead to ruin and national unrest. We can only let the temple destroy these lawless people and these pseudo-drowning people by itself. This is the wisest. Although Li's words were not heard at that time, the Xuanwu gate changed quickly and Li was killed, which was deeply touched. He followed Li's advice and did not abolish Buddhism.
Buddhism escaped a disaster because of Li's words. When the Tathagata looked at it in his mind, he got the view that King Tota was Lee.
