From 65438 to 0982, the leaders of China Tobacco Corporation began to consider the long-term development of the tobacco industry and set up the University of Tobacco Technology. This idea has been positively responded by the national tobacco industry and strongly supported by the Anhui Provincial People's Government. At the beginning of 1984, Anhui Tobacco Company and Hefei United University reached an agreement to jointly build the "Tobacco College of Hefei United University" and submitted it to the provincial people's government for approval. On May 23rd, the provincial people's government approved the establishment of Hefei United University Tobacco Branch. When conditions are ripe, a tobacco college will be established. Wang Guo Chang, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Anhui Tobacco Company, is also the director of the preparatory office. 1985 In May, China Tobacco Research Institute was established independently with the approval of the State Tobacco Monopoly Bureau. Since then, China Tobacco Corporation has submitted the Demonstration Report on the Establishment of China Tobacco Institute to the State Education Commission in June of 5438+0985+00, and made a supplementary report to the State Education Commission in early February of 18, renaming China Tobacco Institute as Hefei Agricultural Economics Institute. In the same year, in 65438+February and 65438+August, the State Education Commission approved the establishment of Hefei Agricultural Economics College on the basis of Anhui Agricultural College (formerly Anhui Labor University), and at the same time abolished it, and some faculty members of Anhui Agricultural College were merged into Hefei Agricultural Economics College. After more than four years of preparation, on May 1989 and May 1 1, the State Education Commission approved the formal establishment and enrollment of the College, and named it "Hefei Economic and Technical College" (hereinafter referred to as the College), which is jointly led by the State Tobacco Monopoly Bureau and the Anhui Provincial People's Government, with the State Tobacco Monopoly Bureau as the main body and Ming Jiang, director of the State Tobacco Monopoly Bureau, as the honorary president of the College. Zhao Puchu, Vice Chairman of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and a famous calligrapher, wrote the name of the college. 1999, the whole college was merged into China University of Science and Technology, and it was named School of Economics and Technology of China University of Science and Technology.
