Chengdu Imperial City Mosque, located on the west side of Tianfu Square, is called Imperial City Temple for short. Located at No.2 Xiaohe Street in the city center, it was originally located at No.30 Yongjing Street in Xicheng District (now Xicheng District has been changed to Qingyang District and Wuhou District, and Yongjing Street no longer exists). Because of its proximity to the Ming and Shu palaces, Chengdu people are commonly known as the Imperial City, hence the name Imperial City Temple. It is the only open place for religious activities in the city center. Covering an area of more than ten mu at the earliest, it is the largest Muslim ancient temple in Sichuan and one of the more famous Muslim ancient temples in China. On the other hand, it was donated by Yunnan people in the early Qing Dynasty in 788. At present, the horizontal plaque of "Tiankai Ancient Religion" is hung on the second door of the temple, which was built in the seventh year of Yongzheng in Qing Dynasty (1729) and repaired in the eighth year of Xianfeng in Qing Dynasty (1858), with historical stone carvings. In the 6th year of the Republic of China (19 17), it was destroyed by the war, and then it was restored. It has continued to this day, but the scale is far less than before. The worship hall covers an area of about 380 square meters and can accommodate six or seven hundred people. There is a bunker in the temple, a bathing room in the north and south of the main hall, and a Buddhist scripture building in the second door. Inside the building, the halls, pavilions and rooms are all modern facilities, while the exterior as a whole still retains the style of ancient buildings. The steles and plaques in the temple were connected and destroyed during the Cultural Revolution, including the ink of Keeping Good Rules on Earth written by the Prince of Qing Dynasty and Tiankai Ancient Religion written by Chengdu Luozhuangyuan. The only survivor is the banner inscribed by Chairman Mao, "Great Unity of All Ethnic Groups in People's Republic of China (PRC)", which was presented by the Central National Mourning Group 1956.
