I once enjoyed a beautiful lilac poetry meeting at Fayuan Temple in Xicheng. In Beijing Tiantan Park, I have seen the Lilac Corridor. This spring's lilac hymn was given to Jietai Temple in Mentougou, Beijing.
Ancient lilacs in Jietai Temple
Jietai Temple is the most famous ancient temple in Mentougou except Tanzhe Temple.
In this ancient temple, there are 1 103 lilacs, the most famous of which is the ancient lilacs.
More than 20 ancient lilacs here were transplanted from Changchun Garden in Yuanmingyuan by Emperor Qianlong. In a blink of an eye, the tree age has reached more than 200 years.
Other ancient lilac trees in Changchun Garden were destroyed by 1860 fire. Even in the imperial garden of the Forbidden City, there are only two such ancient lilac trees.
Therefore, the number and age of ancient cloves in Jietai Temple are unique in Beijing.
Lilac flowering period
Jietai Temple is located in the suburbs, where lilacs usually bloom from early April to mid-May. This spring, different flowers in Beijing are in full bloom, and so is Jietai Temple.
At present, forsythia suspensa, February orchid, Magnolia grandiflora and Eucommia ulmoides can all be watched together.
Lilacs are divided into purple and white, with dense flowers and rich fragrance.
Distribution of lilac trees
The lilac trees in Jietai Temple are distributed in the whole courtyard, among which the ancient lilac trees are distributed in Zhongting Courtyard, Dizang Courtyard, Peony Courtyard, Outside Nangong Courtyard, Tianwang Hall, around Thousand Buddha Pavilion, behind Daxiong Hall and in front of Guanyin Hall.
Personally, I like two lilacs and forsythia under the bell towers on both sides of Tianwang Temple best.
The Tibetan Academy is relatively independent. There are not many lilac trees and flowers here, but pine and cypress are surrounded together, which is very distinctive.
Peony Garden is a teahouse in the inner courtyard of Jietai Temple. Before peony blooms, it is the world of lilac fairy. The company of a pot of hot tea is also a chic standard for flower viewing.
Go straight at the entrance of the main entrance. Behind the wishing tree, there is an outdoor teahouse. There are also ancient lilacs here. The most unique thing is that the ancient lilacs grow outside the wall. When they walked up the hillside from outside the temple, big white lilacs stood out from the wall and stood out on the red wall.
