The overall topography of Yushu City is the highest in the northwest and central, and the lowest in the southeast and northeast. Yushu City is located in the east of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, in the east of Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, bordering Xizang Autonomous Region in the east and southeast, Nangqian County in the southwest, Zaduo County in the west, Zhiduo County in the northwest, Qumalai, Chinduo County and Sichuan Province in the north and northeast.
