Wang Peidong's artistic evaluation
"Vivid pen and ink written with heart": "Master of Dajue Hall", whose real name is Wang Peidong. His paintings and his personality all have the simple and heavy taste of Henan people. Mr. Wang prefers flowers and lotus flowers. 1982, his freehand Chinese painting "Forever Clear the Air" made the lotus flower "emerge from the mud without dye, ripple without demon, go straight through the outside, stick together, smell far and clear, and be graceful and restrained" and its unique creativity, which vividly showed the artistic conception, interest and artistic conception of the lotus flower in Beijing Painting Academy.

Wang Peidong, a famous flower and bird painter, is now a professional painter and workshop director of Beijing Painting Academy, a national first-class artist and a member of China Artists Association. I studied painting with my father, Mr. Wang Zhujiu, a famous flower and bird painter. 196 1 was admitted to the training class of Beijing China Painting Academy, and studied under the famous painter Wang Xuetao. His main works include Autumn Tune, Dragon and Phoenix Dance, High Autumn Season, Zhu Ji Tu, Forever Clear Gas, Gankun Clear Gas and other excellent works. He has published many papers, such as freehand brushwork-the advanced stage of Chinese painting development, and is a great painter who pays attention to both the practice of painting art and the exploration of painting theory. Nowadays, under the influence of multiculturalism, the painter's inner temperament and cultural accomplishment can be displayed in the form of painting, and the style of the times and the plot of the nation are also reflected one by one. In this way, Mr. Wang used his passion and true feelings to feel and express directly, to integrate the realm of nature and selflessness into the powerful power of the pen tip, to seek the rhyme of the times, to write the feelings of life, and to turn the artistic image into a vivid pen and ink image. Mr. Wang Peidong believes that "art comes from life, which is higher than life, and insists on seeking artistic innovation on the basis of tradition. On the road of art, adhere to your own path, and constantly explore, adhere to the genre and go deep into life, and boldly innovate in the form of expression. " In recent years, Wang Peidong's works have entered a higher level, such as mastering pen and ink skillfully, freely adding colors, writing with heart, creating artistic conception and expressing feelings. His works are unique in China art world.

Natural and Simple Heart —— Wang Peidong's Flower and Bird Painting Art

Mr Wang Peidong is 70 years old. This year is also the 50th anniversary of his work in Beijing Painting Academy. Wang Peidong Flower-and-Bird Painting Art Exhibition was successfully held for him in the Art Gallery of Beijing Academy of Painting. At the academic seminar of the exhibition ... famous critics and painters in the art world gave him high praise. (partial summary)

From realism to freehand brushwork

Liu Xilin (famous art historian and painter): Beijing China Painting Academy (Beijing Painting Academy) is the cradle of flower and bird painters. Honorary presidents Qi Baishi and Ye Gongchuo, vice presidents Chen Banding, Wang Xuetao and Mr. Wang Zhujiu are all famous flower and bird painters, which is a very important cultural phenomenon. Learn from Beijing's flower-and-bird paintings and China's flower-and-bird paintings. Without this fertile soil and this cradle, it may be only half of the country. This cradle is not made hard, it is naturally formed; Wang Peidong was not created. His works followed the traditions of the older generation such as Qi Baishi, Wang Xuetao and Wang Zhujiu, and naturally emerged.

His paintings have gone through a transformation process, from realism to freehand brushwork, which is also a transformation from emphasizing realism to attaching importance to freehand brushwork aesthetics.

Wang Peidong has two foundations, one is nature and the other is tradition. These two points are dialectical, natural and indispensable. Wang Peidong has a very good traditional background. From the perspective of nature, he studied nature, which has a close relationship with nature and established the relationship between man and nature. Many of Wang Peidong's paintings and techniques were slowly learned from the older generation, but in the process of his study of nature, many new techniques were innovated. In particular, he painted flowers and trees in the south of China really fresh, including vines we painted before, which often looked like ears of grain when they first opened. Few painters painted it, but he painted it very realistically. This discovery, like the management of pen and ink, embodies a new aesthetic feeling. It is not easy for a flower and bird painter to tell his masterpiece. He has several classic paintings, such as 1982' s Zhang Er's Qing Qi Eternity, which truly embodies the realm of "the lotus root is as big as a boat, and the wind outside the door opens white lotus". His paintings are simple, thick, full and powerful. You should read them one by one.

Learn from nature and have both form and spirit.

Li Shusheng (Professor, Central Academy of Fine Arts): Dong Pei was one of the first painters to enter the Academy of Fine Arts. It has been 50 years since People's Republic of China (PRC) was founded. He is the first generation trained by the Academy of Fine Arts and taught by the older generation of painters. Wang Peidong comes from his family. I am deeply impressed by a big gourd painted by Mr. Wang Zhujiu, which is different from Qi Baishi and anyone else. Wang Peidong is also a student of Mr. Wang Xuetao, and Mr. Wang Xuetao has a direct influence on him. He lives in this era, so his work style is very modern. He is said to be "natural at heart" because he feels that people often come into contact with his paintings, such as radish, cabbage, sorghum and old corn. These themes make people feel that his works not only pay attention to nature and nature, but also add many new things from nature.

Besides, he is always inherited. Inherit the older generation, but develop on the basis of the older generation. He has not been influenced by the composition, techniques and three-sided and five-tone of western painting, and has always maintained the tradition and maintained the elements of Chinese painting, from composition to expression to pen and color. It can be said that tradition is inherited and developed on this basis, which I appreciate very much. Just as Mr. Pan Tianshou emphasized that "Chinese and Western paintings should keep a distance", I always believe Mr. Pan's point of view. I think we should keep our distance and not mix them all up. In this regard, Dong Pei has made outstanding contributions.

Now some people mistakenly think that freehand brushwork can fool the past. In fact, real freehand brushwork painters attach great importance to form and have both form and spirit, which is a tradition in China. I think China's freehand brushwork is to express this kind of "heart". With "heart", there is "meaning", artistic conception creation, interest and appreciation.

Sincere and gentle, draw true temperament.

Zhao Lizhong (painter, researcher at the National Academy of Painting): After reading Wang Peidong's works, I have four feelings. First, it is very frank, second, it is very warm and mellow, third, it is plain, and fourth, it is true temperament. The so-called sincerity is a rich, layered and weighty feeling in terms of the feeling, content and performance of the picture. The warmth is mainly manifested in the feeling that his paintings are kind, amiable and pleasant. It is close to people and attractive, but it does not refuse people to stay away. Plain and unambiguous. True temperament means that the works come from the heart, and his paintings are not artificial. Why do you have these four feelings? According to my understanding of him for more than 20 years, I think he has achieved four other things: first, he is specialized and has no distractions. The second is to concentrate and not go with the flow. The third is to be practical, step by step. The fourth is nature, which is Wang Peidong's ultimate goal.

Wang Peidong's paintings don't jump or make holes, but if you think about it carefully, if you taste tea, it will be mellow, intriguing and enlightening. And those eye-catching, eye-catching things, such as drinking coke and burping out, have nothing. From an artistic point of view, I prefer to drink this mellow tea.

Dapu is not all paper life.

Liu Longting (editor and art critic of People's Fine Arts Publishing House): I want to summarize this exhibition in a few words: First of all, it is a family history; Secondly, this is a profound skill; Third, it is full of vitality; Fourth, unpretentious.

I think flower-and-bird painting is a brand and a banner to promote China culture. In the poetry, calligraphy, painting and printing of Chinese painting, the comprehensive culture is the most perfect, full and unique in flower-and-bird painting. If Chinese painting stands on its own among the nations of the world, first of all, flower-and-bird painting stands in the world.

See if a painter has development potential, and see if his paintings are dull, dull, stagnant and immortal. Wang Peidong's paintings are full of vigor and profound skills. His paintings, including bamboo and tree trunks, including inscriptions, are very steady. They are delivered by pen and ink, and the words are clear and round. He is not corrupt, slick, slick, deceitful or deceptive. His paintings are as simple as people. I think Wang Peidong's down-to-earth and unpretentious style is particularly worth promoting today.

Carry forward the quintessence of the country and be confident.

Shang Hui (Executive Editor of Art magazine): It is of great significance to hold this exhibition. Mr. Dong Pei has his own unique contribution to freehand brushwork flower-and-bird painting. His paintings not only have the tradition of Qi Baishi, but also have the tradition of inscriptions handed down by Shanghai School into books and paintings, and the interest of literati in painting flowers and birds in Ming and Qing Dynasties. He combined the two brushstrokes well. In addition, he organically combines traditional themes with modern themes in flower-and-bird paintings. He is a painter who has developed in the process of inheritance.

The era of Wang Peidong's growth has changed, and he has been impacted by western culture and art, including realism and modernity. This is a cultural problem that Wang Peidong's generation must face and solve in the process of inheriting the tradition. What I saw in Wang Peidong was just a kind of persistence in tradition, a way of observing the traditional image and a way of shaping the image.

Today, when building a cultural power, we should pay special attention to, study and carry forward the Chinese nation's own cultural traditions. By inheriting Wang Peidong and of course some other flower-and-bird painters, we can see a road for the development of China painters. Therefore, I think the significance of Wang Peidong Art Exhibition is that we should re-examine the development track and route of traditional painting.

This exhibition is called "Heart is Nature", and "Heart is Nature" is a kind of consciousness to express nature's ecology and life. There is no doubt that Heart is Natural is a natural expression of self and a personal presentation of Wang Peidong's self. Personally, I think Wang Peidong's personality style can be summarized by Park Mao and Hua Zi. Piaomao just says he is simple, but in fact, this Piaomao has hanako in his head. His simplicity and plainness show us more of his freehand brushwork spirit in flower-and-bird painting, which is also the self-presentation of Wang Peidong's personality, revealing profound cultural spirit in a very plain way, which is actually the highest realm of China tradition or China's freehand brushwork spirit.
