Following last year's "Local Northern Song Dynasty Tuhao Tomb in Meishan"165438+1October1August, Jinxiang Chemical Park in Xianger Town, Meishan City, a large number of blue bricks were dug up. According to archaeologists, this discovery was confirmed as a double-chamber tomb in the Northern Song Dynasty, which is rare in Okawachi. It is understood that during the Northern Song Dynasty, there were many literati in Meishan, and the tombs of the Northern Song Dynasty were related to the Su Dongpo family.
Yesterday, Sichuan Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology announced the excavation results of Guanshan Cemetery in Xianger Town, Meishan.
The bluestone brick was excavated at the archaeological discovery site last year 165438+ 10/8, and the new project of Jinxiang Chemical Industry Park in Xianger Town, Meishan was under construction. An excavator shoveled out a large number of bluestone bricks during operation. After preliminary examination, Liu, deputy director of the Institute of Archaeology of the Provincial Institute of Archaeology, determined that Guanshan Tomb in Xianger Town of Meishan was a double-chamber sarcophagus tomb in the Northern Song Dynasty, and its scale was rare in Okawachi.
"The entire ancient tomb is divided into East and Xiling, and the structure is the same." Lian Rui, the person in charge of the archaeological site, said that this tomb is a two-chamber brick tomb with a pyramid-shaped mound, with a total length of 15 meters and a width of 7.6 meters. The excavation area is 200 square meters. More specifically, there is an inclined pyramid-shaped mound outside the tomb, which is about 8.2 meters long and 1.7 meters wide. "Stone tombs in the Northern Song Dynasty are more common, but they have never been more than 5 meters long." Lian Rui said that this is the largest brick tomb of the Northern Song Dynasty ever discovered in Sichuan Province.
Suspect that the owner of the noble tomb has guards. "In fact, it is amazing that this is a structural technology, and they are all wooden houses." Lian Rui said that there are eaves and beams in the tomb, and the structural lines are imitation wood.
"This kind of tomb structure is also rare. Such a beautiful interior is not affordable for ordinary people. " Liu Fossil said.
Most ancient tombs can't escape the fate of being stolen, and the Guanshan Tomb in Xianger Town also shows signs of being seriously disturbed. Nevertheless, there are still rich relics in the ancient tomb. A large number of funerary objects were unearthed this time, including nearly 200 pieces of pottery, porcelain, bronze ware, iron ware and stone tools.
Pottery includes figures, animals, pottery quadrangles and pottery drums. Porcelain includes bowls, pots, plates, pots, sheep and so on. Bronze and copper coins are Kaiyuan Bao Tong; Iron is seriously corroded, as well as nails, iron coins and so on.
Among these cultural relics, two stone carvings nearly one meter high stand out. Brick red stone statue, simple and honest expression, figure * * *, hands folded. "They are equivalent to the guards of the tomb owner." Lian Rui said.
What makes the particularity of the tomb more prominent is that mercury was found at the bottom of the tomb. "When the blue bricks at the bottom of the tomb were uncovered, mercury was found, but it was not certain whether the mercury was originally in the tomb or leaked under the masonry." Lian Rui analyzed that in ancient times, mercury was used by nobles to prevent corrosion, so it was probably used to preserve bones. Identity guessing
The owner of the tomb is either rich or expensive. Due to the serious damage in the early years, no inscriptions for reference were found in the tomb. So it is difficult to determine the identity of the tomb owner. "It is not ruled out that it is related to Su Dongpo and needs further research." Liu said, but what is certain is that the owner of the tomb is either a powerful person or a rich boy doing business.
It is understood that the tombs excavated this time are large-scale brick tombs of the Song Dynasty in Sichuan, which are rich in variety and exquisite in shape, and provide physical materials for the study of medium and large-scale Song tombs in Sichuan.
