1August 1997-1September 1999, engaged in postdoctoral research at Guangzhou Institute of Geochemistry, China Academy of Sciences. From 1999, he was promoted to associate researcher of Guangzhou Institute of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and began to engage in teaching and scientific research in Northwest University from 1999. He was promoted to professor in 2003 and doctoral supervisor in 2005. From 2005 to 2006, he was a visiting scholar at the University of Salzburg in Austria.

Now he is a professor at Northwest University, mainly teaching courses such as introduction to earth science, modern tectonics and geophysical science. Presided over the establishment of the famous brand project of Introduction to Earth Science of the Ministry of Education and several key construction curriculum projects of Northwest University.
