Introduction of Peking University Institute of Computational Linguistics
Peking University Institute of Computational Linguistics: Peking University Institute of Computational Linguistics (ICL), Peking University; Since the establishment of 18 research institute, a series of achievements have had a wide impact on academic and industrial circles at home and abroad, and achieved remarkable benefits. In 2004, the staff of the Institute included 18 in-service researchers and postdoctoral researchers, of whom 14 had doctoral degrees, 4 professors and 6 associate professors, and more than 30 doctoral and master students and 10 undergraduate interns.

Zhu, a famous linguist and former vice president of Peking University, served as the first director of the Institute. Professor Yu from the Department of Computer Science has long served as the executive deputy director of the Institute and the deputy director of the Chinese Department of the Institute. The Institute of Computational Language is affiliated to eecs, and its current director is Professor Yang Fuqing, director of the Department of Information and Engineering Science in Peking University and academician of China Academy of Sciences. The daily work is the responsibility of Dr. Wang, Deputy Director, and Dr. Zhan Weidong, Deputy Director (Chinese Department). His main research interests are machine translation methods, techniques and system realization, information retrieval and extraction, evaluation methods and techniques of natural language information processing system, restricted Chinese and its auxiliary writing system, and computer-aided research of China ancient poems.
