Xu Guotai, a veteran of Democratic Progressive Party, was born in 1945, the younger brother of Xu Xinliang. When Democratic Progressive Party 1986 was established in September, he was the first batch of party member, and served as a "legislator" from 1989 to 1996. Later, Xu Guotai and Democratic Progressive Party drifted away and finally chose to quit. When Xu Guotai visited Shanghai, he was full of praise for the construction of Shanghai, saying that "Shanghai was relatively backward last time, and now it is much better than Taiwan Province".
Regarding urban development planning, Xu Guotai said that urban planning in Chinese mainland usually takes 50 years or more. Take Shanghai as an example, the planning is mostly 50 years, even 100 years. Although the area of Shanghai is smaller than that of Taiwan Province Province, its population has far surpassed that of Taiwan Province Province, and it is estimated that there will be at least 30 million people in 2050. Correspondingly, various constructions in Shanghai continue to advance, emerging areas flourish, greening policies and low-carbon concepts go hand in hand, and the level of urbanization has already leapt to the forefront of the world.
Xu Guotai's idea.
Looking at Shanghai and thinking about Taiwan Province Province, Xu Guotai pointed out that Democratic Progressive Party's concept of "localization" is to manage the practice of "localization" in Taiwan Province Province, and at the same time look back at the mainland and do planning and construction for the grassroots people in a down-to-earth manner.
Xu Guotai visited Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum and rented an audio guide. He found that the contents mainly belonged to the Kuomintang, and the nearby Meiling Palace was also well preserved. Xu Guotai sighed, saying that the mainland can completely delete the history and elements related to the Kuomintang when maintaining the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum. But for the mainland, history is history. Despite the civil war and past grievances, the mainland is still protecting the "legacy" of the Kuomintang. This is a simple and precious historical concept.
