Baoshan Cultural Archives: Appreciation of Liao He's Couplets.
Jinji village used to be the seat of Buwei County and Yongchang County and the political, economic and cultural center of Baoshan. As early as the second year of Yuanfeng in the Western Han Dynasty (BC 109), Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty opened up territory, passed through the southwest Yi area, set up Yizhou County in Yunnan, and set up Buwei County in Baoshan Dam jinji village, the hinterland of Ailao country. "Huayang Guozhi Nanzhongzhi" records: "When I was filial, I learned that Bonanshan crossed the Lancang River (now Lancang River). Creek (Wayao River), the hometown of the Tang Dynasty, is located in fearless county. It is a disciple of Changsun Shi, a Lu Jiazi of South Vietnam. Because its name is not Wei, it shows the evil of its ancestors ... "The Lushi family who moved here has a large population, followed by a large number of people who deal with literature and ink, tutors, property managers who handle housework, and hundreds of workers, bringing high-level culture and advanced technology ... At that time, there was a family school. The Lushi family was deeply influenced by Confucian culture and had a great influence on the cultural exchange and educational development in Yongchang (Baoshan). Subsequently, a large number of Han people moved to Buwei County, which promoted the integration of Han culture and frontier culture.

"The Biography of Southwest China" records: "In the twelfth year of Yongping in the Eastern Han Dynasty (AD 69), Liu Mao, the bereaved king, appointed his son (Hu Li) as a member of his family ... and became Yongchang County", which ruled in the Tang Dynasty. In the second year of Zhang Jian in the Eastern Han Dynasty (77 years), he moved from the Tang Dynasty to the fearless county. Therefore, jinji village has always attached importance to culture and education, and has produced a number of celebrities such as Lu Kai in history.

Liao He (1840- 1920), nicknamed Mingjiu, was born in Chengdu, Sichuan. 1398, went to Baoshan as a secretary with general manager Li Jin of Yongchang Mansion. Because of the pleasant climate and simple folk customs, he stayed in Baoshan City, and was later welcomed by fellow Sichuanese to live in Sichuan Zhenggong (president of fellow Sichuanese Baoshan) to set up a library for teaching. He is talented and knowledgeable. In the 31st year of Guangxu (1905), people in jinji village admired Liao He's name, paid attention to his residence many times and hired him to teach in the village. So he set up a library in Jinji, followed suit, taught by example and explained incisively. All the students he taught were admitted to previous provincial examinations. After abolishing the imperial examination and advocating new learning, he encouraged his students to seek new knowledge inside and outside the province and go out for further study, reaching more than 20 people, many of whom later became famous. Such as,, Meng Baochu, Zhang Qian, Shi, Zhang Nanbin, etc., are all people who have made achievements in different careers. His works, such as Shi Kuang and Le Yan, On Great Works, A Guide to Kuang Xue, Poems and Songs, have been unfortunately lost. In 9 years of the Republic of China (1920), Liao He died in jinji village at the age of 80. Villagers and students buried him in Yingpan Mountain in the east of the village and built a memorial hall to celebrate his contribution.

In the main hall of Houwoniu Temple in jinji village, there is a couplet written by nine famous teachers in Liao Ming:

Confucius said adults, Buddha said no one, the old man said to people, everyone can do it;

Confucianism has a good attitude towards things, but there is nothing in the cloud, and there is something in the old cloud, and everything is inseparable.

The word "no one" in the first part: it means no talent, no one, no one here. "Zhiren": a person with high moral cultivation, detached from the secular, conformed to nature and lived a long life. It means a person with high moral cultivation. It is well known that Confucius is revered as a "saint". In fact, Lao Tzu has another honorific title, that is, "knowing benevolence." Taoism refers to people who are detached and free from vulgarity and reach the realm of no self; A person with the highest ideological or moral cultivation. "Its extreme": the apex, the highest state. Confucius said that there are talents in the world, and Buddha said that there are no talents. Laozi said that people with high moral cultivation can actually be cultivated into people with the highest moral cultivation through study.

The second couplet in Wu Ge: Wu Ge explores the truth of things and corrects people's behavior by his own means, while Wu Ge is an important issue in the methodology of Confucian epistemology. "Nothing": verb, nothing, nothing is empty. "something": something, the content is not empty. "Meticulousness": There is not a tiny place that is not considerate. The main idea of the bottom line is: Confucianism says we should explore the truth of things and correct people's behavior, Buddhism says everything is empty, Taoism says nothing, and there is no conclusion until we start studying small places.

This couplet is neat, philosophical and intriguing. Show the advantages of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism: everyone can become a talent through study and education, and nothing in the world can be achieved without learning from a small place. This shows the importance of education and is also an incentive for future generations.
