A Brief Introduction to the Story of the Movie Bitter Flower
1, Plot: Wangguanzhuang, a mountainous area in Jiaodong in the early days of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression. The only landlord, Wang Yi (played by Liu Jiang), colluded with the Japanese aggressors and ran roughshod over the village, killing Aunt Feng's husband and forcing her son away. Juanzi (Yang Yaqin), the eldest daughter, secretly participated in the anti-Japanese armed forces and organized armed riots under the leadership of Jiang Yongquan (Wang Zhigang), the leader of the underground party. Aunt Feng raised her ideological consciousness in the riots. She didn't blame Juanzi for not telling her about the revolution, but sent her second son Deqiang (Wan Cang) to join the Eighth Route Army. Only after Wang was suppressed, his brother, Japanese spy Wang Kanzhi (played by Gulan), came to the village to engage in spy sabotage as a primary school principal. The film tells the story of how an ordinary rural woman, like the heroic mother Aunt Feng, grew into a warrior with high class consciousness and lofty patriotism in the cruel struggle with the enemy under the leadership of the Party, and made her understand that the only way to deal with the cruel class enemy is to pick up a gun and fight.
