Shanghai Customs College is neither a 2 1 1 university nor a 985 university.
Shanghai Customs College is a full-time general institution of higher learning approved by the Ministry of Education and directly under the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China.
The college has five teaching departments, namely, the Department of Customs Administration, the Department of Economics and Business Administration, the Department of Law, the Department of Foreign Languages and the Department of Basic Studies, and has seven undergraduate majors and master's degrees in customs administration, logistics management, auditing, international business, taxation, law and English.
1, 2 1 1 project: refers to the construction projects of about 100 universities and a number of key disciplines facing the 2 1 century. It was officially launched on 1995 1 1 with the approval of the State Council. "2 1 1 Project" is a key construction work in the field of higher education initiated by the state since the founding of New China. This is an important measure taken by the China government to implement the strategy of "rejuvenating the country through science and education", and it is also an important decision made by the Chinese nation to develop higher education in the face of the domestic and international situation at the turn of the century.
2.985 Project: refers to the major decision made by People's Republic of China (PRC) Party and the State Council to build a world-class university at the turn of the century. The first batch of "985 Project" built nine universities, namely Peking University, Tsinghua University, China University of Science and Technology, Fudan University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Xi Jiaotong University, Nanjing University, Zhejiang University and Harbin Institute of Technology. A total of 39 "985 Project" universities were approved for construction.
