Who can introduce the situation of Chongxi Wetland Science Experimental Station?
Chongxi Wetland Science Experimental Station was established in September 2004. Based on the background investigation of Chongxi wetland and the construction of Chongxi wetland ecological restoration research base, it was jointly built by Shanghai Science and Technology Commission, East China Normal University, Shanghai University and Shanghai Water Affairs Bureau.

Chongxi Wetland Science Experimental Station is located at the western end of Chongming Island, the third largest island in China, with a geographical location of1212.691'north latitude 3 1 44.09 1' and an altitude of 4.7m This area belongs to a typical subtropical monsoon climate. The annual average temperature is 15.3℃, the annual average rainfall is 1049.3mm, and the annual average evaporation is 718.0mm. The geological structure is the stratum developed since Mesozoic, including unconsolidated Quaternary loose sediments. The soil is mainly gray and taupe sandy-clayey silt.

The tide is an irregular semidiurnal shallow tide with an average duration of 12 hours and 24 minutes. Vegetation types are mainly salt marshes and artificial forests in estuaries and beaches.

Chongxi wetland, where the experimental station is located, is located in the first tributary of the Yangtze River estuary. It belongs to estuarine tidal flat wetland and is one of the important wetland types in the world. It plays an irreplaceable role in biodiversity protection and water quality self-purification in estuaries. Chongxi Wetland Science Experimental Station provides a scientific experimental platform for related research, with the goal of establishing an internationally renowned and irreplaceable open wetland scientific research field experimental station in China. The main research goal is to cultivate natural assets, expand environmental capacity and promote regional harmonious development.

At present, the main research directions are:

Wetland biodiversity;

Structure and function of wetland ecosystem;

Wetland ecological restoration and reconstruction.

The experimental station covers an area of nearly1.2000 square meters, and the living area1.5000 square meters. There are 5 teachers' apartments and 9 students' apartments, which can accommodate 24 scientific research assistants and 32 internship students at the same time, and there are 2 standard rooms for foreign experts. All kinds of living facilities in the living area are complete, creating a good environment for the station staff. The experimental station advocates the concept of green environmental protection and applies advanced ecological sewage treatment technology to realize zero discharge of domestic sewage.

There are 1 1 laboratories with an area of 550 square meters. There are aquatic biology laboratory, plant ecology laboratory, animal ecology laboratory, microbial ecology laboratory, routine analysis room of ecological components, photosynthetic physiology and ecology laboratory, biological culture room, microcomputer room, information processing room, biological specimen room and conference room. It is equipped with advanced instruments and equipment such as ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometer, photosynthesis instrument, chlorophyll fluorescence instrument, wet soil three-parameter analyzer, portable soil nutrient/water quality analyzer, water potential measurement system, plant canopy analysis system, and wetland environmental parameter re-monitoring system. Can carry out photosynthesis and water metabolism of producer components in wetland ecosystem; Law, diversity and protection of life activities of consumer parts; Separation and purification of decomposers and analysis of gene functional group characteristics; Monitoring the four main components of the surface system: wetland water (hydrology, water quality), gas (air quality, carbon flux), soil (soil quality) and organisms (species, populations and communities).

The experimental area covers an area of 1 000 square meters, including experimental fields, experimental greenhouses, ecological experimental ponds, experimental fish ponds, biogas digesters, weather stations, gas exchange research platforms, Yangtze River water quality monitoring platforms and air quality monitoring platforms. These platforms can carry out research on the development and breeding of new germplasm of wetland energy crops, water purification technology of constructed wetlands, the impact of global climate change on carbon cycle of wetland ecosystems, and the purification of air pollutants by wetland ecosystems. At the same time, a long-term positioning monitoring system of water quality, soil, atmosphere, biology and other factors in the first branch of the Yangtze River estuary is established by using wireless transmission and online monitoring technology.

Chongxi Wetland Science Experimental Station has five functions to display wetland research technology: wetland ecosystem health monitoring technology, wetland ecological protection technology, wetland ecological restoration technology, wetland ecological reconstruction technology and wetland scientific management technology; And the six research functions of wetland bird ecology, wetland plant ecology, wetland fish ecology, wetland benthic animal ecology, wetland microbial ecology and wetland ecosystem ecology.

Since the establishment of Chongxi Wetland Science Experimental Station, it has been highly valued by the leaders of Shanghai Municipal Government and Municipal Science and Technology Commission. He has carried out extensive international academic exchanges and established good cooperative relations with Ohio State University. Professor William Mitsch, President of the International Society of Ecological Engineering, praised Chongxi Wetland Science Experimental Station as one of the best wetland science research stations in Asia.

At present, the experimental station has received dozens of visiting researchers from domestic and foreign universities and research institutions such as Shanghai Normal University, Shanghai Fisheries University, Hainan University and Shanghai Oasis Ecological Protection Exchange Center. Various summer camps for college students and volunteer scientific research activities have been successfully held, which has become an important base for academic research, academic exchange, talent training and popular science education in the field of wetland ecology in China.
