The art discipline of Shandong University originated in the 1930s, which has trained a large number of outstanding talents for the country and produced scholars and artists with important influence at home and abroad. Hong Shen, Zhao Taimou and others pointed out the direction for the art discipline, and celebrities such as Zhang, Zhang, Zhong and Gigi Lai all left their hard work here. In the 1950s, the state adjusted departments, and the Art Department of Shandong University transferred the backbone to form Shanghai Theatre Academy and Nanjing Art Institute. Shandong university 1994 resumed the establishment of the art department, and in 200 1 established the art college, which enrolled students that year.

In September of the same year, Dr. Qin Chuan, an internationally renowned young pianist, was introduced as a full-time professor and director of the International Piano Art Center. At present, the College of Art has three undergraduate majors: musicology, fine arts and visual communication design, all of which are key disciplines of culture and art in Shandong Province. The first-level discipline of art theory (music and dance, art design) has a master's degree authorization point, and the master's degree authorization point of art (involving music, art, art design and dance); It also enrolled doctoral students in nine fields, including art criticism, folk art, art folklore, China traditional art, art management, art and cultural creativity, western music research, China art history and art industry, and became the only art discipline in Shandong Province with a complete training system from bachelor to doctor. The College is also the only "National Training Base for Grass-roots Cultural Team" established by the Ministry of Culture in colleges and universities, and the first batch of "Chinese Excellent Traditional Cultural Heritage Bases" named by the Ministry of Education.
