1. Yunnan University (YNU for short) located in Kunming is a national key university and a "double-class" construction university. It was selected into the 2 1 1 project, the basic capacity-building project of one province and one school in the central and western universities, and the first-class universities supported by Yunnan Province.
"11/plan", excellent legal talent education and training plan, excellent engineer education and training plan, high-level university graduate program construction, government scholarship for overseas students in China, and national model universities for deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education reform are members of the "one province, one school" key construction university alliance in the central and western regions, and the leading unit of South Asia and Southeast Asia University Alliance.
Yunnan University was founded in 1922, and it was a private Donglu University. In 1934, it was renamed as provincial Yunnan University. In 1938, it was renamed as National Yunnan University. In 1958, it was placed under the management of Yunnan Province by the Ministry of Higher Education.
From 65438 to 0978, Yunnan University was identified as one of the 88 key universities in China. 1996 is the first batch of key universities listed in "2 1 1 project". 1999, Yunnan University of Political Science and Law merged into Yunnan University. In 20 17, it became one of the first 42 "world-class universities".
The school has two campuses, Chenggong and Donglu, covering an area of 4,367 mu, with a school building area of 6,543,800+0,330 square meters and a library with more than 4 million books.
