Southeast University is a national key university directly under the central government and the Ministry of Education, and it is one of the key universities under the National 985 Project and the 2 1 1 Project. It is the first batch of universities authorized by the State Council to award doctoral, master's and bachelor's degrees, examine the qualifications of professors and associate professors, and set up doctoral tutors by themselves. The school is located in Nanjing, a famous historical and cultural city, and its main campus is located at No.2 Sipailou. It was the seat of the Imperial Palace in the Six Dynasties and imperial academy in the Ming Dynasty. For thousands of years, there have been endless books and constant learning.

Southeast University is one of the earliest institutions of higher learning in China. It is known as the holy land of institutions of higher learning and the first-class institution in Southeast China. The predecessor of Southeast University is Sanjiang Normal School, which was founded in 1902. 192 1 year, Southeast University was formally established on the basis of Nanjing Normal University advocated by Guo Bingwen, a famous educator in modern times, and became one of the only two national comprehensive universities in China at that time. Mr. Guo Bingwen became the first principal. He visits many famous teachers every week, and dozens of famous scholars and experts gather in Dongda University. Therefore, Peking University is famous for its literature, history and philosophy, while Dongda is famous for its science. 1928, the school was renamed as the national central university, with seven colleges of science, engineering, medicine, agriculture, literature, law and teaching, ranking first in the country in terms of disciplines and school scale. 1952 nationwide faculty adjustment, liberal arts and other disciplines moved out. With the former Zhong Da Institute of Technology as the main body, it was merged into Fudan University, Jiaotong University, Zhejiang University and Jinling University to establish Nanjing University of Science and Technology in the original site of Central University. In May 1988, the school was renamed Southeast University.
