Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is an undergraduate major in colleges and universities. This major trains Chinese medicine applied talents with good humanistic, scientific and professional qualities, systematic basic theories, knowledge and skills of Chinese medicine, and clinical diagnosis and treatment ability of common diseases, who can engage in medical treatment, prevention, health care and rehabilitation in the medical and health field.

Graduates should have good humanities, scientific and professional qualities, profound traditional culture of China, systematic basic theory and knowledge of TCM, strong thinking and clinical practice ability of TCM, strong inheritance ability, innovative and entrepreneurial ability, master corresponding scientific methods, have the ability of autonomous learning and lifelong learning, and realize the coordinated development of knowledge, ability and quality.

Teacher:

The establishment of undergraduate Chinese medicine specialty should have stable, well-structured and high-level teachers, academic leaders with high academic attainments, and strictly implement the teacher qualification access system. The total number of teachers who undertake this professional course is not less than 35, including not less than 20 full-time teachers who undertake the basic courses of traditional Chinese medicine and professional basic courses. The structure of teachers in various disciplines and courses is reasonable, and they all have bachelor degree or above, with the proportion of master's degree and doctoral degree not less than 50% and the proportion of senior titles not less than 1/3.

Colleges and universities applying for the establishment of undergraduate Chinese medicine major should set up teaching management institutions, and should be equipped with at least 2 full-time teaching management personnel with bachelor degree or above and knowledge structure of Chinese medicine; Professional core courses must set up corresponding basic teaching organizations (teaching and research section, curriculum group).
