Brief introduction of Shaanxi Normal University
Shaanxi Normal University is a world-class discipline construction university directly under the Ministry of Education. It is an important base for the country to train teachers, educational management cadres and other senior professionals in colleges and secondary schools, and is known as the "cradle of teachers".
The school's predecessor was Shaanxi Teachers College, which was established in 1944. 1954 changed its name to Xi' an Normal University, 1960 merged with Shaanxi Normal University and was named Shaanxi Normal University. 1978 directly under the Ministry of Education.
Since its establishment more than 70 years ago, the school has been adhering to the fine traditions of "the red candle spirit of western learning" and "respecting morality and learning, inspiring and self-improvement". Based in the west and facing the whole country, it has developed into a comprehensive first-class normal university with important influence, which has trained more than 380,000 graduates of various types for the country, and has formed the school spirit of "firm implementation of the road and self-improvement of books" and "respecting morality and carrying things, integrating knowledge and practice".
The school is located in Xi 'an, one of the four famous historical and cultural cities in the world. Covering an area of 2,800 mu, there are two campuses, Chang 'an and Yanta. Construction of Chang 'an Campus began in 2000, and now it has become the main campus of the school, which mainly undertakes the education and training tasks of the third and fourth grades of undergraduate and graduate students.
Yanta Campus has a history of more than 60 years. At present, it mainly undertakes the teaching of basic courses and general courses for freshmen and sophomores, as well as the tasks of teacher education, continuing education, distance education, teacher cadre training, international student education and so on.
Chang 'an Campus is modern, open and magnificent, Yanta Campus is simple and elegant, and Zhong Ling is beautiful. The school was awarded the title of "Civilized Campus" by the Ministry of Education and the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government.
