Wenzhou University is a local comprehensive university. Its school-running history can be traced back to Wenzhou Normal School founded by Huang Xiangchu, a famous patriotic thinker in modern Wenzhou, in 1933. With a history of more than 80 years, it has a profound cultural heritage and excellent school-running tradition.
In 2003, Wenzhou University was approved by the State Council Academic Degrees Committee as an authorized unit for master's degree. Graduate department was established in 2004, responsible for degree construction and postgraduate education, and began to recruit and train postgraduate students in 2004.
