B 1 stands for BEC primary level (CEFRB 1 level).

Cambridge Business English Certificate (BEC) is divided into three levels: elementary (B 1), intermediate (B2) and advanced (C 1), which helps workplace English learners to improve their business English level step by step. Each level describes four skills of English learners: listening, speaking, reading and writing.

Cambridge Business English Certificate BEC Certificate is valid for life. Once a candidate has obtained any level of BEC Cambridge Business English Certificate, he will get a lifelong certificate of language achievement.

Cambridge Business English Certificate (BEC) is a standard for many well-known multinational companies and international universities to evaluate the language ability of candidates and applicants. In China, organizations recognized by BEC include Adidas, BASF China, Procter & Gamble, Shell, Swire Properties, Tesco, FedEx, Tesla Motors, Illinois, Wal-Mart, China Railway Engineering Corporation and China State Construction Engineering Corporation.

BEC exam is conducted in two stages.

The first stage is written examination, including reading, writing and listening, and the second stage is oral examination.

The examination time is:

BEC primary reading and writing 90 minutes, listening about 40 minutes (including the time to fill in the answer sheet), oral test 12 minutes;

BEC intermediate reading 60 minutes, writing 45 minutes, listening 40 minutes or so (including the time to fill in the answer sheet), oral test 14 minutes;

BEC advanced reading 60 minutes, writing 70 minutes, listening 40 minutes or so (including the time to fill in the answer sheet), oral test 16 minutes.
