Zhejiang Sci-Tech University is a provincial-level key construction university with distinctive features and outstanding advantages, and the coordinated development of science, engineering, literature, economics, management, law, art and teaching. The school is located in Hangzhou, a famous historical and cultural city with "heaven above and Suzhou and Hangzhou below".

The history of Zhejiang Sci-Tech University can be traced back to 1897. Qi Lin, the magistrate of Hangzhou, founded Zhejiang Silkworm College, which is one of the earliest new educational institutions in China. Undergraduate enrollment 1959, Zhejiang Silk Vocational and Technical College 1964 was named by the State Council, master enrollment 1979, master's degree awarded 1983. 1999, approved by the Ministry of Education, the school was renamed Zhejiang Institute of Engineering. In 2004, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the school was renamed Zhejiang Sci-Tech University. In 2006, he was awarded a doctorate.
