Tsinghua University (hereinafter referred to as "Tsinghua"), located in Haidian District, Beijing, is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC), ranking among the national double-class 985 Project and 2 1 1 Project. As a member of Nine Universities Alliance, Song Lian Alliance, China University Presidents Association, Asian University Alliance, Pacific Rim University Alliance, China-Russia Comprehensive University Alliance and Tsinghua-Cambridge-MIT Low-carbon University Alliance, China is known as the "cradle of red engineers".
Tsinghua School, the predecessor of the school, was founded in 19 1 1. The name of "Tsinghua" originated from the place name of the school site "Tsinghua Campus", which was a preparatory school for studying in the United States founded by the government in the late Qing Dynasty. The funds for its establishment came from 1908, part of boxer indemnity returned by the United States. 19 12 was renamed Tsinghua school. 1928 changed its name to National Tsinghua University.
1937, moved south to Changsha, and jointly established the National Temporary University of Changsha with the National Peking University and the private Nankai University. /kloc-moved to Kunming in 0/938 and changed its name to National Southwest Associated University. 1946 moved back to Tsinghua campus.
People's Republic of China (PRC) was founded 1949, and Tsinghua University entered a new stage of development. China University 1952 has become a multidisciplinary industrial university after adjustment. Starting from 1978, it gradually recovered and developed into a comprehensive research university.
