Brief introduction of Dong's life
Dong, 1942, was born in Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province, an ordinary worker's family. His father's thought of worrying about the country and the people and the scene of old China's domestic troubles and foreign invasion left a deep impression on his early heart. After the founding of New China, the thought of serving the motherland and saving the country scientifically was naturally combined with Dong's personal ideals in his youth. "Tian Xingjian, the gentleman is constantly striving for self-improvement." The influence of China's traditional culture had a great influence on his later scientific research, innovation and transcendence. 65438-0966 Dong graduated with honors from China University of Science and Technology and entered a research institute of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation. Since then, he has forged an indissoluble bond with the research of underwater weapons and equipment, and started his challenging career.

After a long and bumpy development process, a national key model project was finally approved. It is a research and development project to break the foreign high-tech blockade, realize the leap-forward development of China's underwater weapons and equipment industry and turn a new page. Its scientific research needs are very urgent, and more than two-thirds of the new technologies are adopted. At that time, the domestic pre-research foundation was very weak, and it was very difficult and risky to introduce it to the outside world. Whether this model can be successfully developed has become the focus of discussion in the industry for some time.

At this critical moment, Dong, with his love for the motherland and his pursuit of career, undertook the task of developing this major project with a strong sense of hardship. He said: "My life coordinate should be positioned in the hard course of the turnaround of the underwater weapons and equipment industry." In the following ten years, he challenged himself, not afraid of difficulties, and struggled on a rugged journey. Learn relevant professional knowledge, be familiar with the professional technology of each system, read hundreds of drawings and documents, think and make decisions on many major technical issues ... like a gyro, he keeps running. In this way, for ten years, he presided over the completion of the project demonstration, engineering design, engineering development, design finalization and other stages. Ten years of grinding a sword, this key model project was successful after completing hundreds of tests and was finalized by the state. A batch of production capacity was formed in that year.

In 2009, he was elected as an academician of China Academy of Engineering.
