How do mainland lawyers become Hong Kong lawyers through the Postgraduate Diploma in Common Law of the University of Hong Kong?
I plan to obtain a lawyer's license in Hong Kong. To study in Hong Kong, you must obtain a Bachelor of Laws degree and a Law Certificate from the University of Hong Kong or the City University of Hong Kong, and complete a two-year internship as a lawyer (as do Commonwealth graduates) before you can be allowed to practice as a lawyer in Hong Kong.

Law graduates from other universities can qualify as barristers or lawyers in Hong Kong through the following channels:

First obtain a legal professional certificate/advanced legal certificate, and then work as a trainee lawyer for two years or a trainee barrister for one year;

Having passed or been exempted from the overseas lawyer qualification examination, and having obtained the lawyer qualification after being admitted, meeting the practice requirements; Or pass the barrister qualification examination and complete the prescribed barrister internship period.
