North university of china is an institution of higher learning with a glorious history. Its predecessor was Taihang Industrial School, which was the first ordnance school established by the Eighth Route Army General Command in Taihang Anti-Japanese Base Area in 194 1. After the battle baptism of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the War of Liberation, it has gone through many vicissitudes.

On the 60th anniversary celebration of the school in 200 1 year, * * * wrote the inscription "The First School of People's Ordnance Industry" for the school.

1949, the school moved to its present location and was renamed North China Ordnance Vocational School, and later renamed North China Ordnance Industry School and Taiyuan Machinery Manufacturing Industry School. 1958 was upgraded to Taiyuan Institute of Mechanical Engineering, 1993 was renamed North China Institute of Technology, and in 2004 it was renamed north university of china.

The school successively belongs to the Ministry of Machinery Industry, the Ministry of Ordnance Industry of the People's Republic of China, China Ordnance Industry Corporation and other national ministries and commissions, and is now a multi-disciplinary teaching and research university jointly established by the people of Shanxi Province and the State Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense and managed by the people of Shanxi Province.
