Qianjiang College of Hangzhou Normal University was established in August, 1999. It is a comprehensive full-time undergraduate independent college approved by the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Zhejiang Province.
The college is located in Hangzhou, the capital city of Zhejiang Province. Hangzhou is the political, economic, cultural, educational, transportation and financial center of Zhejiang Province, one of the central cities of the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration, the node city of the Ning Hang eco-economic belt in the Yangtze River Delta, and one of the important e-commerce centers in China. Hangzhou is also one of the seven ancient capitals of China, and has been known as "paradise on earth" since ancient times. The campus is located in Xiasha Higher Education Park, Jianggan District, Hangzhou, adjacent to Qiantang River. The campus covers an area of 906.46 mu, and the school building area is 654.38+0.8 million square meters. The library has a building area of 35,000 square meters and a total collection of more than 900,000 books. The campus environment is elegant, the infrastructure is advanced and the conditions for running a school are complete.
Adhering to the fine tradition of "respecting teachers, loving students, respecting skills and attaching importance to teaching" of Hangzhou Normal University, the College adheres to the school-running philosophy of "people-oriented, establishing schools with quality and developing with characteristics", and sets up majors according to the development trend of modern science and technology and the needs of local economic and social development. At present, the hospital has 35 undergraduate majors, including broadcasting and hosting, accounting, e-commerce, tourism management, English, Chinese language and literature, nursing, applied chemistry, mechanical design, manufacturing and automation, which are divided into nine disciplines: science, engineering, medicine, economics, management, law, literature, teaching and art. The college enrolls students nationwide. Since the establishment of 19, more than 24,000 undergraduates have been sent to the society, and there are currently more than 9,000 full-time undergraduates.
There are more than 460 full-time teachers in the college, of which 86% are teachers with master's degree or above and 48% are teachers with senior titles. At the same time, it enjoys nearly 200 teachers with Hangzhou Normal University. The college has successively funded projects such as college-level research funds, student research funds and academic works publishing projects to promote scientific research. Broadcasting and hosting, nursing, mechanical design, manufacturing and automation are key (emerging characteristics) majors in Zhejiang Province, nursing and chemistry are first-class disciplines in Zhejiang Province, key disciplines in Hangzhou such as Internet of Things engineering, and key laboratories in Hangzhou such as radio, film and television and new media. At the same time, in cooperation with enterprises, research institutions such as Water Treatment Ecological Engineering Research Institute, Hangzhou Digital Medicine Research Institute, Hangzhou Arts and Crafts Research Institute and Huiyou IT Service Research Institute have been established successively. Undertake a number of national, provincial (ministerial) and municipal scientific research projects.
The college insists on teaching students in accordance with their aptitude, takes teaching quality as the lifeline, and cultivates applied talents with strong foundation and ability. The college implements the credit system, pays attention to the development of students' personality, and constructs the talent training mode of 1.5+ 1 (that is, the first year and a half of studying general education courses and subject basic courses, the second year and a half of studying professional basic courses, compulsory courses and elective courses, and the last year is the comprehensive practical teaching year). The College has actively cooperated with overseas sister schools to carry out multi-level exchanges and cooperation, and has successively established friendly and cooperative relations with Yosemite University in South Korea, California State Polytechnic University Pomona, and Lincoln University in New Zealand.
