1993 The First International Debate Competition for College Students can be regarded as the real beginning of the vigorous development of Chinese Debate Competition in Chinese mainland. The debate team of Fudan University was appointed by the state to participate in the competition, and finally met Taiwan Province Provincial University.

Debate: human nature is good \ human nature is evil, Fudan is the opponent, and the best debater is Jiang Changjian.

This debate was widely concerned in that year, attended by Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, and Jin Yong served as a judge. Jiang Changjian, the best debater, became famous in World War I and became a senior debater in China.
