Shandong Radio and Television School is also the Shandong Radio and Television System Training Center and Shandong Correspondence Station of China Communication University, which undertakes two tasks: adult higher education and on-the-job personnel training.
Adult education (correspondence and distance education) continues to grow and develop, the enrollment scale is gradually expanded, and the enrollment professional level is constantly broadened. Shandong Correspondence Station of Beijing Broadcasting Institute was established in our school on 1988 and enrolled students that year. For more than ten years, the correspondence station has strengthened management, seriously organized education and hired famous professors to teach, thus ensuring the teaching quality. Since 1992, it has been rated as an advanced correspondence station in the biennial evaluation of national correspondence stations organized by Guang Bei. In the evaluation of correspondence stations in resident colleges and universities by Jinan Education Bureau, it was also rated as an excellent correspondence station. In order to ensure the quality of education, the school employs professors from Shandong Normal University and Shandong University or experts in the industry to teach, and Beijing Broadcasting Institute also sends teachers to teach. After graduation, students will get a diploma from Beijing Broadcasting Institute. The major of adult education has also changed from a single news gathering and editing major to broadcasting host, TV director, advertising, radio and television engineering and other majors. Shandong Radio and Television System Training Center was established in 1993, which belongs to Shandong Radio and Television Bureau. It is the only training base of radio and television system in our province and co-located with Shandong Radio and Television School.
Since its establishment, the training center has held various types of training courses every year with the help of the strength of the school and the rich resources of the radio and television system in our province. First, it organized professional training courses for broadcasters and presenters. In September 2002, when vocational education developed rapidly to the level of higher vocational colleges, the state issued a policy to vigorously promote the reform and development of vocational education. According to the development situation of vocational education, in order to meet the needs of the development of radio and television in our province, we should improve the level of running schools, expand the development space of schools, optimize the conditions of running schools, and accelerate the pace of training senior and intermediate professionals in radio and television in our province. Shandong Media Vocational College is located in Zhangqiu University Town, Shi Jing East Road, Jinan, covering an area of more than 950 mu. According to the principle of one-time planning and step-by-step implementation, the construction will be carried out in two phases. By the end of April, 2009, three teaching buildings with 27,498 square meters, dining hall13,089 square meters, comprehensive building with 6,304 square meters, and five student dormitories with 28,208 square meters, totaling 75,000 square meters, have been completed. And all of them are delivered through acceptance. Since its establishment, Shandong Media Vocational College has been highly valued by the leaders of the Provincial Radio and Television Bureau, and has been listed as one of the three key projects of the Provincial Radio and Television Bureau. The leaders of the provincial bureau visited the construction site of the new campus many times and gave strong support in construction funds and land acquisition. In the preparation of college evaluation, the relevant departments of the provincial government were coordinated in many ways, so that Shandong Media Vocational College passed the evaluation smoothly.
