The Historical Evolution and Basic Situation of Nanhai Campus of South China Normal University
Nanhai Campus of South China Normal University was formerly Nanhai College of South China Normal University. On August 16, 2000, South China Normal University and the government of Nanhai District (formerly Nanhai City) signed the Agreement on Building Nanhai College of South China Normal University with Nanhai City, and Nanhai College was established. Nanhai College is a secondary college directly under South China Normal University, which is operated by a new public mechanism. In September, 200 1 year, the first batch of junior college students were officially enrolled. Nanhai Campus covers an area of more than 340,000 square meters with a building area of 240,000 square meters, which can accommodate more than 7,000 students. In 2003, Nanhai College began to recruit the second batch of undergraduates. In June, 2004, the 13th Party Congress of South China Normal University explicitly designated Nanhai College as one of the three campuses (Shipai Campus, University Town Campus and Nanhai Campus), and carried out the first round of campus reform. In September of the same year, the Guangdong Provincial Government and the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education made it clear that Nanhai Campus was a public school. In 2005, Guangdong Provincial Department of Education upgraded Nanhai Campus from the second batch of undergraduate enrollment to the key undergraduate enrollment, and the enrollment code was listed separately. In 2006, Nanhai Campus and South China Normal University enrolled students with a unified enrollment code. On April 2013 12, the school officially launched the second round of comprehensive reform of Nanhai campus. According to the overall layout of the coordinated development of one school and three districts and the overall requirements of "innovative management, strengthening characteristics, international cooperation and serving the local area", Nanhai Campus has newly established four undergraduate colleges: International Business School, Urban Culture College, Software College and Vocational Education College. At the same time, the last college graduates from Nanhai College to 20 16 will be retained; Based on the principle of "simplification, pragmatism and high efficiency" and the requirement that "the school departments are mainly in direct command and the territorial management of the campus is mainly responsible for coordination", the organizational structure of Nanhai Campus is reorganized, and eight functional offices such as Nanhai Campus Management Committee, Comprehensive Management Office, Personnel Management Office, Teaching Management Office, Student Work Office, Financial Management Office, Scientific Research Management Office, Security Office and Logistics Management Office are established. Nanhai Campus now has five undergraduate majors: financial management, French, cultural industry management, software engineering and education (vocational education). There are also nine majors, such as legal affairs, secretary, financial securities, computerized accounting, applied English, e-commerce, computer network, digital media design and production, and customer service management, which have stopped enrolling students since 20 14. In terms of international cooperation in running schools, Nanhai Campus has established joint school-running projects with famous universities in Britain, the United States, France, Canada, Australia and other countries. In 20 14, the school signed a strategic cooperation agreement with China study abroad service center (Ministry of education) with Nanhai campus as the carrier, and established an international exchange and cooperation platform for students to study abroad, return home, study in China and education. In the same year, the campus international business school was approved by the Ministry of Education to cooperate with Aberdeen University to set up a (3+2) master's and master's program, and it will enroll 80 students in 20 15 years. In terms of continuing education, Open College and Phoenix International College also run schools in Nanhai Campus. At present, there are 38 10 students in the campus, including 796 full-time key undergraduates, 352 full-time junior college students, 6 open college students 13 16 students, 323 students from Phoenix International College and 23 international joint school projects.
