Do college students in Changsha need proof of studying for passports?
Legal analysis: No need. The entry and exit documents have been "universal" throughout the country. Mainland residents can apply for ordinary passports of People's Republic of China (PRC) and China at any entry-exit management window in the country, and college students do not need to use school certificates or any student ID cards to apply for passports. The procedures and materials are the same as those of their household registration. College students only need to bring ordinary passport application materials.

Legal basis: Article 4 of the Passport Law of the People's Republic of China. Ordinary passports are issued by the exit-entry administration department of the Ministry of Public Security or the exit-entry administration department of the public security organ of the local people's government at or above the county level entrusted by the Ministry of Public Security, as well as China embassies and consulates abroad and other overseas institutions entrusted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
