Investigation and analysis report on college students' participation in public welfare behavior research

Donations and other public welfare actions are important manifestations of modern civilization and traditional virtues passed down from generation to generation by the Chinese nation. Public welfare symbolizes love, public welfare and social responsibility. As a group receiving higher education in society and the backbone of the future society, college students will be the main group of public welfare donations in the future.

How do they evaluate the current public welfare behavior and the social public welfare undertakings around them? What factors affect their public welfare activities? Through what channels and ways to participate in public welfare? Therefore, the author investigates more than 100 questionnaires distributed in various fields in Honghe University, understands the current situation of contemporary social public welfare concepts and behaviors, analyzes its reasons, and puts forward suggestions, which is of great value and significance for promoting the construction of public welfare undertakings adapted to a harmonious society and strengthening the cultivation and improvement of college students' sense of social responsibility.

First, Honghe University students' ideas and behaviors on public welfare undertakings

1. The enthusiasm of Honghe University students to participate in public welfare activities

In the investigation of Honghe University 100 students, the author found that: support to participate in public welfare activities.

90% students are very active, 2% students say they don't support participating in public welfare activities, and 8% students say they don't care. In addition, according to the survey of students who have participated in public welfare activities, 60% of students participate in public welfare activities every week, 5 1% students participate in public welfare activities in their spare time, 30% students participate in public welfare activities on holidays, and 1 1% students participate in public welfare activities when necessary. In the investigation of whether students who have not participated in public welfare activities will participate in public welfare activities in the future, it is found that about 43% students will actively participate in the future, about 53% students will participate in valuable public welfare activities, and about 4% students are not interested in public welfare activities. In the survey, 79.2% of the students said that if the school organized charitable fund-raising activities or there were charitable fund-raising activities on the street, they would participate, while 20.8% of the students said they would not participate. It can be seen from these data that most students of Honghe University can actively participate in public welfare activities, and only a few students are not keen on public welfare activities. However, judging from the positive degree of paying attention to public welfare activities, today's Honghe University students still lack enthusiasm, and only a few students say that they often pay attention to public welfare activities and actively seek opportunities to participate. This reflects that college students' public welfare concept is weak and their enthusiasm for public welfare activities is insufficient.

2. Honghe University students' ability to participate in public welfare activities

In the survey of the above 100 students, the author also found that 43% of the boys and 57% of the girls in Honghe University participated in the survey of public welfare activities, and most of the girls were more conscious and enthusiastic about public welfare activities. In this survey, according to grades, freshmen participated in public welfare activities 4%, sophomores participated in public welfare surveys 28%, juniors participated in public welfare surveys 465,438+0%, and seniors participated in public welfare surveys 27%. Most students have participated in on-site donation and material donation activities, and the number and amount of donations are only within the scope of students' ability.

3. Channels for Honghe University students to participate in public welfare activities

The survey found that 7 1.5% of the students who participated in public welfare activities said that they had participated in the activities through the school youth league Committee, student union and volunteer service groups, and 27.7% participated in the activities through volunteers such as peer groups. 13.8% joined the Red Cross and other social welfare organizations, 50% participated in charity performances and other public welfare activities as volunteers, and 7.7% expressed their participation in other ways. According to the survey among students who have never participated in public welfare activities, only about 26% of them said that they would donate on the spot or through mobile phones, banks and the Internet in the future. About 90% of the students expressed their willingness to participate in charity performances and other public welfare activities as volunteers in the future, and about 50% of the students expressed their willingness to join social welfare organizations such as the Red Cross.

When asked about the obstacles encountered in participating in public welfare activities, 76.9% of the students said that it was mainly due to time, which conflicted with personal life or work and study, indicating that it was mainly due to economic factors, 53% of the students had to spend money to participate in voluntary service, while 35.4% of the students were mainly due to social factors and most people's prejudice against volunteers, and 6.2% of the students said that it was caused by external pressure. From these data, we can see that college students now participate in public welfare activities mainly in the form of donations and participation as volunteers. From the consideration factors of college students' choice of public welfare mode, we can see that most college students can still consider the problem from the standpoint of accepting help and choose the best public welfare form to help others, but there are still many ways that students choose for personal convenience or external influence, and they can't really help others.

After investigating the most convenient way for college students to participate in public welfare activities-organizing public welfare activities on campus, it is found that 22.3% of the students said that the school often held public welfare activities, 75.4% said that the school sometimes or rarely held them, and 2.3% said that the school never held public welfare activities. As can be seen from the above data, most colleges and universities have not done enough to provide opportunities for college students to participate in public welfare activities, and there are few channels for college students to participate in public welfare activities.

4. Understanding and attitude towards social welfare.

In the survey, the author also found that as many as 38% of the students participated in public welfare activities in general, and a small number of students, accounting for 5%, thought that the situation of participating in public welfare organizations was very good, while 16% thought that the situation of participating in public welfare organizations was not very good, only 16% thought that the situation of participating in public welfare organizations was very good, and 4% thought that it was good. This shows that most students are dissatisfied with the atmosphere and current situation of public welfare undertakings.

In the questionnaire survey, it is found that more than half of the students lack confidence in the integrity of public welfare, and are skeptical about those who need help and those who actively participate in public welfare. Regarding the role of college students in the development of China's public welfare undertakings, 465,438+0% people think it has a great role, 55% people think it has a certain role, but most of them rely on other social forces, and 4% people think it is not clear. In the process of participating in public welfare, 43% students are more excited when they exercise themselves against setbacks. 53% people attended the course and continued to receive training, and 3% people were hit and quit the activity. Don't take part in activities if you feel wronged. This shows that most students have a good attitude towards social welfare undertakings and great enthusiasm.

Second, the reasons why the students of Honghe University have this concept and behavior of public welfare.

Through investigation, the author thinks that there are two main reasons why Honghe University students have this kind of public welfare concept and behavior:

1. Personal factors

(1) College students' limited ability has a certain impact on family financial resources. College students in Honghe University generally rely on their families to provide living expenses, and they are all consumers. Economic income directly affects their behavior and concept of participating in public welfare undertakings. College students with stable and sufficient living expenses are more willing to help others through donations, because this way is more convenient and can give the recipients the most practical help. On the contrary, the living expenses come from part-time college students, who rarely participate in public welfare donations, but they are also willing to provide practical help to the recipients and participate in social welfare undertakings by volunteering.

(2) College students know little about social welfare undertakings, which directly affects their participation behavior and ideas. Most college students know little about the current situation and participation methods of social public welfare undertakings, and rarely take the initiative to care about the development of public welfare undertakings. They usually take part in public welfare activities that they are interested in, but ignore activities that they don't understand and are not interested in, which greatly affects their behavior and ideas.

2. Social shock

(1) There is only one channel to participate in social welfare undertakings. At present, there are few ways to participate in public welfare undertakings in society, and only donations and volunteers can not arouse the enthusiasm of the public to participate in public welfare activities. Especially for college students, the school only participates in public welfare activities by chance, and the campus publicity is insufficient, so it is difficult to mobilize college students to participate in public welfare activities.

(2) Lack of social integrity. There are many "fake" poor people in today's society. They can earn their own living without help, but they cheat the public into donating money, which leads college students to be skeptical about donations in society. The transparency of public welfare is not high, and the purpose and flow of donations are not clear, which leads to the lack of integrity of college students in public welfare undertakings.

(3) The development of public welfare undertakings is slow. The number of public welfare organizations in society is small, the quality is not good, the internal organization construction is not standardized, the efficiency is low, and there is a lack of effective management, which makes college students afraid to join such public welfare undertakings.

(4) The government pays insufficient attention to it. In the modern sense, public welfare undertakings have only developed in recent ten years, and the degree of supervision is lacking, and the government lacks sufficient attention and publicity. Therefore, the relevant laws and systems on public welfare undertakings are still not perfect and cannot play a good supervisory role.

Third, the measures and suggestions for the development of college students' public welfare in Honghe University

In view of the above investigation and analysis of the reasons, the author thinks that we can start from the following aspects to gradually enhance the public welfare concept awareness of Honghe University students and make them devote themselves to public welfare undertakings:

1. Students' own perspective;

College students need to strengthen their awareness of public welfare and actively care about the development of public welfare undertakings.

The financial strength of college students is limited, and not everyone has extra financial and material resources to help others. However, college students need to improve their awareness of public welfare, actively explore practical ways to participate in public welfare around them, and devote themselves to helping others.

There are more than one way for college students to do public welfare, such as participating in online public welfare organizations, performing public welfare performances, and joining social volunteer groups. These are more convenient and feasible ways for every college student to do public welfare. In addition, college students, as a big consumer group in China, are not as poor as expected. College students can be thrifty in their daily lives, learn how to manage their finances, devote some of them to public welfare undertakings to help others, and believe in true love on earth, so as to improve their personal moral quality and shoulder their social responsibilities as soon as possible.

2. School perspective:

Schools should provide students with a platform to participate in public welfare as much as possible, do a good job of publicity, give contemporary college students full channels to participate in public welfare undertakings, and mobilize their enthusiasm for participating in public welfare.

At present, the current situation of college students' public welfare is not optimistic, because there is no platform for their development. Schools and community organizations in schools should advocate humanitarianism throughout the school, encourage student cadres in party member to take the lead in participating in public welfare activities organized by the Red Cross and the General Public Welfare Association, and promote the formation of a good public welfare atmosphere and the development of campus public welfare undertakings.

At the same time, it is also important to form a glorious public welfare atmosphere in schools. Schools can use slogans, posters and other forms of encouragement to vigorously promote in the school media and create a public welfare atmosphere; Or regularly invite some founders of public welfare or public welfare organizations to give lectures in schools, publicize the essential significance of public welfare, and shape college students' correct understanding of public welfare. Make students form the psychology of participating in public welfare and form an atmosphere of mutual assistance.

3. Social perspective:

Social public welfare organizations should try their best to attract college students and make contributions to the development of public welfare undertakings in China.

The lack of honesty in today's society is a big problem. The public welfare structure should first improve its own quality and credibility, so that people, especially college students, have confidence in its safety and effectiveness, such as making the use of donations and the flow of funds open and transparent.

At the same time, the government should pay more attention to public welfare organizations, strengthen supervision, and actively carry out various community and university public welfare activities, so that more people can participate in public welfare activities in China.

College students' active participation in public welfare activities is of great significance to society and individuals, which promotes the development of modern civilization and humanitarianism. Society and schools should create a good platform and atmosphere for this, so that contemporary college students can continue to carry forward public welfare undertakings, lend a helping hand to more people in need, and warm the world with the torch of public welfare.
