Nanguang College of Communication University of China was declared by Communication University of China and approved by the Ministry of Education. It is a provincial undergraduate university established in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, and the only applied university of media and art in Jiangsu Province.

The school was founded on September 6, 2004/KLOC-0. It was jointly sponsored by China Communication University and Huaxia Audiovisual Media Group, with Liu Jinan, former president and honorary president of China Communication University, as the founder and the first president.
