"Two-year full-time study experience" is a hard rule. Because the courses offered by Australian universities are very diverse, the length and methods of study are different, which will have a certain impact on students' immigration plans. For example, students may finish their studies in a shorter time, or the class hours may be shortened because of the possibility of reduced credits, so students cannot meet the requirements of immigration.
Definition of "two-year full-time study":
Generally speaking, two years of study time includes at least two years of full-time study time required for obtaining a single degree, or two years of study time for obtaining multiple degrees.
Two-year full-time study means four semesters, at least 16 months or more. Nowadays, many educational institutions have introduced a new semester arrangement, that is, a system of three semesters in a school year instead of the traditional two-semester system. If 16 months of study time can include four semesters, then the applicant meets the requirement of two years of study time. However, if the study time is less than 16 months, it will not meet the requirements of the Immigration Bureau, because the study time of students in Australia is shortened.
Other requirements for 2-year full-time study
It is worth noting that the two-year study time consists of two main parts. One of the factors is that the applicant must have completed at least two years of study in Australia, and must attend courses approved by the Federal Agency (CRICOS). Another factor is that the applicant must complete the course for at least two years or more. The number of years of study depends on the actual number of years of study, not the number of years of enrollment in this course. A school year means full-time study of not less than 36 weeks. The two-year study time does not include the credit exemption approved by educational institutions or the credit exemption obtained due to the recognition of work experience.
As long as students abide by the two-year full-time study rules, they can choose to speed up their study. Generally, the number of full-time study subjects per semester cannot be less than 75% of the full-time study time, that is, there must be 3/4 registered study subjects per semester. How to meet the requirements of two-year full-time study?

Credit exemption

Even if students are exempted from credits or subjects because of their previous studies, their degrees, diplomas or vocational education must still meet the full-time study time equivalent to 2 years (4 semesters).
Applicants studying in overseas campuses of Australian educational institutions cannot apply for immigration after two years of full-time study. Applicants must go to Australia to study in person. Applications for two-year study time for correspondence courses in Australian educational institutions will not be accepted. This is because the applicant did not study on the Australian campus in person.
Summer courses and compressed courses
Some educational institutions will offer summer courses to students, so that students can finish their studies in a shorter time. It is worth emphasizing that in this case, although the students have two years (four semesters) of study time, their study time is less than 16 months, which leads to the students not meeting the basic conditions of the "two-year full-time study time" immigration application.
Immigration applications with two years of academic study time less than 16 months will not be accepted, because students have failed to adapt to life in Australia and establish their own social network in Australia, which makes them unable to live in Australia for a long time and enter the Australian labor market.
