China West Normal University is a key university in Sichuan Province. The school was founded in 1946, and its predecessor was War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression's National Northeastern University. At the beginning of the Anti-Japanese War, Northeastern University moved to Santai County, Sichuan Province. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, Northeastern University moved back to Shenyang, and with the support of people of insight and 36 counties 10 saltworks in North Sichuan, relying on Sichuan teachers and students of Northeastern University, a private North Sichuan Agricultural and Industrial College was established in the original site of Santai. 1949 Private North Sichuan A&M University and Xishan College founded by the famous Mohist Mr. Wu jointly established private North Sichuan University. 1950, the school moved to Nanchong and merged with North Sichuan College of Literature to form a public North Sichuan University. 1952 The school merged with some majors of East Sichuan Institute of Education (Rural Construction College), Sichuan University and West China University to form Sichuan Normal University. 1956, the school is divided into two parts. The part that stayed in Nanchong was renamed Nanchong Teachers College, 1958 was upgraded to Nanchong Teachers College, and 1989 was renamed Sichuan Teachers College. In 2003, it was renamed West China Normal University, which accumulated and formed the school motto of "diligence, truth-seeking, dedication and innovation".
