Jinan Railway Vocational and Technical College was founded in 195 1. Its school names are Jinan Railway Bureau Intermediate Technical School and Jinan Railway Machinery School respectively. It was upgraded from 1958 to Jinan Railway Institute, 1963, and was announced as the first batch of national key middle schools on 1980. In 2000, Shandong Provincial People's Government approved the transformation of Jinan Railway Machinery School into Jinan Railway Vocational and Technical College. In June, 2004, 165438+ 10, the college was directly managed by the Shandong Provincial Department of Education.

The college has two campuses. The old campus is located at No.79 Jiefang Road, Jinan, covering an area of more than 260 mu, with a construction area of 80,000 square meters. The new campus is located at No.23000, Shi Jing East Road, Jinan, covering an area of 825 mu and a building area of 255,000 square meters.

The college has six departments: mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, information engineering, civil engineering, biological engineering and management.
