Scientific Research Achievements of Forestry College of Guizhou University
Since the establishment of the Ministry of Forestry from 65438 to 0958, through the hard work of several generations of teachers, it has achieved fruitful results and has a certain position in China's forestry industry. It has undertaken 22 projects of National Natural Science Foundation, National Key Basic Theory Research (973), National Science and Technology Tackling and National Science and Technology Support Program, National Science and Technology Achievement Transformation Fund Project 1, 45 projects of State Forestry Administration, key projects of Ministry of Education, "Light of the West" project of Chinese Academy of Sciences, key science and technology tackling and major projects of Guizhou Province, Guizhou Provincial Governor Fund, Guizhou Provincial Excellent Talents Fund and Guizhou Provincial Natural Science Fund Project. There are 7 projects between WWF and Ford Foundation. He presided over multi-disciplinary scientific investigation of large nature reserves 10 and 5 major projects of provincial forestry department, totaling 1 13. Won 3 second prizes and 3 third prizes of national scientific and technological progress, 2 first prizes of provincial and ministerial scientific and technological progress, 2 second prizes 17, 27 third prizes, 4 fourth prizes 10, 2 second prizes of China Forestry Society Liang Xi Award 1, and China Forestry Society Liang Forestry Science and Technology Award (the highest science and technology award in forestry industry). The research results cover a wide range, including the following aspects:

(1) Study on Cultivation of Plantation in Southern Mountainous Areas. Aiming at the main timber tree species such as Pinus massoniana, Cunninghamia lanceolata, Pinus armandii and Phyllostachys pubescens, and the economic forest tree species such as Camellia oleifera, Erythrina verniciflua, Eucommia ulmoides and Galla Chinensis in the southern mountainous areas, the breeding, fast growth and high yield, management and pest control were systematically studied. Especially for the study of Pinus massoniana, ten southern provinces (regions) were organized to tackle key problems together, based on the Guizhou Plateau and facing the southern mountainous areas, and applied basic and practical technology research to form a suitable technical system of fast-growing and high-yield universal timber (special timber) forest of Pinus massoniana, and the People's Republic of China (PRC) industry standard "Fast-growing and High-yield Forest of Pinus massoniana" was formulated. Published monographs such as "Pinus massoniana in China" and "Cultivation of Pinus massoniana Pulp Timber Forest", with leading achievements in China. In the study of forest site classification, according to the characteristics of southern mountainous areas, the method of site classification of geology and geomorphology was put forward, which made a breakthrough and was widely used, and had a great influence in China. The research achievements in this field have won 3 second prizes, 3 third prizes 1, 1 first prize 1, 2 second prizes 1, 22 third prizes, chinese society of forestry Liangxi Prize 1, and Liang Forestry Science and Technology Award1. With the support of these achievements, the discipline of forest cultivation has become a key discipline in Guizhou Province, and it has been granted the right of doctoral degree.

(2) Theoretical and technical research on restoration and reconstruction of degraded karst forest. Aiming at the problem of karst vegetation degradation and rocky desertification, the theory and technology of restoration and reconstruction of degraded vegetation are systematically studied. Since the early 1980s, people have systematically studied the characteristics of karst ecological environment, the distribution, types, structure, functions, productivity and dynamics of karst forests, especially the ecological process of natural restoration of degraded ecosystems and the management of karst forests. Published three collections of essays, Research on Karst Forest Ecology. Aiming at Huajiang area, where rocky desertification is the most serious in Guizhou Province, comprehensive control research is carried out around the development and utilization of water resources, water-saving agriculture, restoration and reconstruction of degraded forests, comprehensive prevention and control of rocky desertification, returning farmland to forests and grasslands, and development and utilization of characteristic biological resources, so as to build Huajiang "eco-economic control of rocky desertification in karst plateau" demonstration area, which provides important scientific basis and technical support for the control of karst rocky desertification in southwest China. The above research results won the second prize of Guizhou Science and Technology Progress Award 1, the third prize 1 and the second prize of chinese society of forestry Liang Forestry Science and Technology Award, which provided important support for the construction of doctoral programs in forest cultivation and master programs in ecology.

(3) Study on the construction of shelter forest system. Aiming at the problem of soil erosion in the Wujiang River basin in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, the theory and technology of water source forest and soil and water conservation forest construction were systematically studied, and the national scientific and technological key projects in the Seventh Five-Year Plan, the Eighth Five-Year Plan and the Ninth Five-Year Plan were undertaken successively. The regional differentiation law, shelter forest site classification system, evaluation method, present situation and law of soil erosion, water conservation function of vegetation-soil system, shelter forest zoning, forest species classification and layout, and artificial afforestation technology in difficult areas in Wujiang River Basin were studied in detail, and the results won two third prizes for scientific and technological progress of the Ministry of Forestry and the third prize for scientific and technological progress of Guizhou Province 1 item.

(4) Investigation of nature reserves and research on biodiversity and species protection. Since 1980s, he has presided over and organized 14-20 experts and scholars to conduct large-scale scientific investigations on Maolan, Fanjingshan, Xishui, Chishui, Leigongshan, Kuanshui, Foding Mountain, Zhujiashan, Bai Qing, Dasha River, Cape Mountain and other 10 nature reserves in Guizhou. More than 0/0 papers such as Scientific Investigation Collection of Maolan Karst Forest, Scientific Investigation Collection of Leigongshan Nature Reserve and Comprehensive Scientific Investigation Collection of Kuankuoshui Nature Reserve have been published, which has become an important technical support for national nature reserves, man and biosphere reserves, karst world natural heritage declaration in southern China and nature reserve planning in Guizhou Province. It has contributed to the development of natural protection in Guizhou Province and enjoys a high reputation in China. In view of the rich animal and plant resources in Guizhou, combined with the investigation of nature reserves, the biodiversity and its environmental background, rare and endangered organisms were studied, and the monograph Guizhou Forest was edited, and China Forest (deputy editor), Guizhou Flora and Guizhou Fauna were edited, and the fifth volume of Guizhou Flora was edited. Established the largest tree specimen room in Guizhou Province. The above research results were awarded the third prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award, the first prize of Provincial and Ministerial Science and Technology Progress Award 1, the second prize of chinese society of forestry Liang Science and Technology Progress Award, the fourth prize 1 and the third prize 1.

(5) Social forestry research. In view of the main collective forest areas in southern China, especially the collective forest areas in Guizhou, community forestry investigation and research have been carried out, and projects funded by the Ford Foundation of the United States and the World Wide Fund for Nature have been undertaken. Six monographs, such as Conflict and Conflict Management, Conflict Management: A New Concept of Forest Resources Management, were published, which provided a basis for the current forest right reform and had a certain impact both inside and outside the province.

Teachers from Forestry College have traveled all over Guizhou and accomplished scientific research tasks with great achievements. It not only promoted the teaching and improved the teaching level, but also accelerated the combination of production, learning and research, and made contributions to China's forestry development and ecological environment construction. At the same time, it also trained talents and increased the influence and popularity of Forestry College in China forestry industry.
