Definition of labor education

Education Dictionary defines labor education as "education in labor, production, technology and labor literacy" according to its content and labor literacy, aiming at cultivating students' correct labor outlook, attitude and habits and enabling them to acquire basic knowledge and skills in industrial and agricultural production.

The origin of the concept of labor education can be traced back to19th century. Robert owen, a utopian socialist, conducted an experiment combining productive labor with education in New kroner, England. Marx fully affirmed Owen's experiment, and on this basis, put forward the all-round development thought of combining education with productive labor.

In Das Kapital, he pointed out: "For all children who reach a certain age, the future education is a combination of productive labor, intellectual education and physical education. It is not only the way to improve social productive forces, but also the only way to cultivate people with all-round development, and it is one of the most powerful means to transform society.
