Hunan Vocational College of Safety Technology is a public full-time ordinary institution of higher learning jointly established by Hunan Provincial People's Government and state administration of work safety to train all kinds of applied professionals for the whole society, especially for the safety production industry. The College was established in Changsha Coal Mine Safety Technology Training Center, which is a cooperative project between the United Nations Labor Organization and People's Republic of China (PRC) and a national Shuang Yi-level safety production training base. Over the past two decades, more than 23,000 safety technicians from China, Asia and Africa have been trained. In order to make full use of the high-quality teaching resources of the center, the center began to implement academic education in 2000. In 2005, with the approval of the provincial people's government, Hunan Vocational College of Safety Technology was formally established on the basis of Changsha Safety Technology Training Center. In June, 2006, the provincial people's government and state administration of work safety signed an agreement to jointly build Hunan Vocational College of Safety Technology, making it clear that this college is the first vocational college in China to train safety professionals, and it is also the national training base for fireworks and firecrackers professionals. In 2008, the college was designated by the Science and Technology Department as the transformation base of scientific research achievements of fireworks and firecrackers in Hunan Province. Adhering to the concept of "people-oriented, all-round development" and taking the road of diversified development, the college has gradually formed a school-running pattern in which academic education and safety training are interdependent and coordinated, and has made great progress and gradually formed obvious advantages. First, unique industry advantages. The College is managed by Hunan Provincial Administration of Work Safety and has been included in the 11th Five-Year Plan for Safety Development. The college has signed counterpart training agreements with many well-known enterprises inside and outside the province, and the one-time employment rate of graduates has remained above 90%, and all safety production technical posts are vacant; Third, the outstanding advantages of experimental training. The college has a special laboratory building, with a total value of teaching instruments and equipment of more than 30 million yuan, more than 40 laboratories suitable for teaching, nearly 20 training bases and a national safety production technical support center; Fourth, the teaching facilities are perfect. The school has a building area of 654.38+10,000 square meters, and the library has more than 360,000 books. Fifth, there is a faculty with sufficient quantity, optimized structure and high overall level. The college has nearly 300 full-time teachers and 80 teachers with deputy senior titles or above. College is one of the two Shuang Yi-level training centers for national safety production, which trains more than 5,000 people every year.
