According to Baidu Encyclopedia,1June, 958, the people's government of the autonomous region decided to establish Guangxi Institute of Technology in Nanning. 20 12 On March 29th, Guangxi Institute of Technology and Liuzhou Medical College merged to declare the establishment of Guangxi University of Science and Technology, which was approved by the Ministry of Education with a construction period of 1 year. In September, the people's government of the autonomous region applied to the Ministry of Education for the establishment of Guangxi University of Science and Technology. On April 2013 18, the Ministry of Education officially approved the establishment of Guangxi University of Science and Technology. 20 13 was approved by the Academic Degrees Committee of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and became the construction unit of the doctoral degree granting right project.

Guangxi University of Science and Technology was approved by the Ministry of Education on April 20 18, 2003, and was formed by the merger of the former Guangxi Institute of Technology and the former Liuzhou Medical College. Guangxi Institute of Technology was founded in 1958, merged with Guangxi Institute of Light Industry, Guangxi Institute of Mechanical Industry and Guangxi Institute of Petrochemical Technology in 1982, and moved from Nanning to Liuzhou in 1985. Liuzhou Medical College was founded in 195 1 and named as "Guangxi Fourth Medical College". Approved by the Ministry of Education in 2003, it was upgraded to Liuzhou Medical College.
