Brief Introduction of Tianjin Sinology Research Association
The purpose of the seminar is to excavate, collect, sort out and carry forward the treasures of traditional Chinese studies, so as to serve the modern society. Zhao, a famous historian and professor of Nankai University, was elected as the first president. Nankai University professors, Zhu, Ai Yuejin, Shi and Chang Qiaoling served as vice presidents and secretary general, while Mr. Wang served as standing adviser. After the inaugural meeting, Qiu Lianghui, an expert on Yi Studies, and Liu Zehua, a historian, made academic reports respectively. Wan Xinping, Party Secretary of the Municipal Social Federation, Wang Xuefu, Deputy Director of the Social Administration Bureau, Zhen Jianmin and Ma Jinhong, Honorary Presidents of Tianjin Sinology Research Association, respectively delivered speeches to congratulate the establishment of the research association. They hope that the Sinology Research Association will focus on academic research, give consideration to the function of serving the society while accurately grasping the connotation of Sinology, and produce more excellent products and talents, thus adding new troops to the research field of social sciences in Tianjin.

The newly established Sinology Research Association is an academic and non-profit organization composed of sinology researchers and people who voluntarily support sinology research. The Institute undertakes projects entrusted by all parties, holds academic conferences on Chinese studies, organizes academic exchanges and cooperation on Chinese studies, popularizes knowledge on Chinese studies, trains talents on Chinese studies, develops cultural products on Chinese studies, and publishes publications and audio-visual products. The Sinology Research Association is based on academic research. While accurately grasping the connotation of Chinese studies, it also takes into account its function of serving the society and produces more excellent products and talents, thus adding a new force to the social science research field in Tianjin.

Sinology, also known as "sinology", refers to the inherent knowledge of a country. As a concept in the modern sense, Sinology began in the early 20th century. Generally speaking, sinology refers to old learning relative to new learning; Compared with western learning, it refers to middle school. By extension, it is the traditional academic culture of China in the eyes of modern people. Sinology can be regarded as a science to study and explain China's traditional culture and scholarship.
