Hello, everyone, what we are seeing now is the treasure of Zhenguo Temple-the Ten Thousand Buddha Hall. The Ten Thousand Buddha Hall was built in the Five Dynasties and the Northern Han Dynasty in the seventh year (AD 963). It has a history of more than one thousand years. It is one of the oldest existing wooden structures in China, and is called "the Millennium Treasure".

The ten thousand buddhas hall is three rooms wide and three rooms deep, which is similar to a square. The roof is a single-eaved rest peak (also known as the "Nine Ridges Top", which can only be used for ancient buildings such as palaces and temples). There are 12 eaves columns around the main hall, and the corner columns of each column rise. Stigma rolling brake, pillars connected by diaphragm, diaphragm is not in front at the corner. The reason why the Ten Thousand Buddha Hall stands for thousands of years is mainly because the arch of its architectural structure has played a decisive role. Bucket arch is a very unique composite component, which consists of square bucket arch, arched arch and inclined layer, without nails and adhesives. Dougong has a special name called "Paving the Road" in the Song Dynasty's Architectural Method. According to the location, there are three types of cornices in Wanfo Hall: stigma paving, gap paving and corner paving. As you can see, this bucket placed directly above the stigma is called "Stigma Paving", with a total height of1.74m.. Seven paving, double copying and double lifting, is the highest level of bucket arch modeling in China. The one between the two pillars is called "patch shop", and the one in the corner pillar is called "corner shop". Wanfo Hall bucket arch is made of huge materials, and the overall height of the bucket arch outside the eaves is about two-thirds of the height of the column. On the one hand, it reflects the high-rise color of Wanfo Hall, on the other hand, it also reflects the importance of the bucket arch in the whole building structure.

In the history of ancient architecture in China, the change of the bucket arch is very remarkable, which can represent the trend of architectural art in different periods, while the bucket arch in Wanfo Hall retains and inherits the magnificent style in the prosperous Tang Dynasty.

When we enter the temple, we can clearly see the inscription of the year of construction on the roof of the temple, which reads "Built by Wei Tianhui in March of the seventh year", and "Dahan" refers to what we now call the Northern Han Dynasty.

Northern Han may not be familiar to everyone. Northern Han Dynasty refers to the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period between Tang and Song Dynasties. Among them, the five dynasties refer to the small dynasties of Liang, Tang, Jin, Han and Friday established in the Central Plains after the demise of the Tang Dynasty. Together, the territory of these five small dynasties is only a small part of the Central Plains in the north, and ten separatist regimes have been established in other places outside the Central Plains, nine of which are in the south and only one is in the north, which is what we mentioned earlier. Its capital was Taiyuan, Shanxi, and it was called Jinyang at that time. The small court in the Northern Han Dynasty only existed for 28 years and then died. The area of the Ten Thousand Buddha Hall is not very large, but it has become a witness of this era and a veritable world cultural heritage.
