When Engels talked about the "dialectical picture" of the universal connection of things, he pointed out: "When we carefully examine nature or human history or our own spiritual activities, the first thing that catches our eye is the picture of endless interweaving of various connections and interactions." As a universal philosophical category, connection refers to the mutual influence, mutual restriction and interaction between the internal factors and foods. Contact it has a series of characteristics:

First of all, contact is objective. Contact is inherent in the objective thing itself, and it does not depend on people's subjective understanding and will. Connections are realistic and concrete, and mutual connection is one of the universal properties of matter, so we can't replace the connection of objective things with the connection of subjective imagination. Adhering to the objectivity of communication means building the principle of universal communication on the basis of materialism. Adhering to the objectivity of connection requires us to proceed from the connection of objective things, which is an important difference between materialist dialectics, idealist dialectics and sophistry. Adhering to the objectivity of practice is materialism from the perspective of practice.

Secondly, the connection is universal. The universality of transaction connection has three meanings. First of all, the different parts and requirements of everything are interrelated, that is, everything has an internal structure. Second, nothing can exist in isolation, and everything has a certain relationship with other things. Third, the whole world is an interconnected and unified whole. From the inorganic world to the organic world, from nature to human society, everything has universal connection and interaction, and there is no completely independent thing. As a form of human practical activities and social existence, events are essentially a unique form of human communication, that is, the basic ways and means of all realistic communication between people in social and natural and society. This has been proved by human practical experience and scientific development. The whole world is an interconnected and unified whole; Everything is a unified contact network, through which the universality of contact is reflected.

Finally, people are diverse. Things in the world are diverse, and so are the connections of things. The diversity of connections is as follows: ① There are different connections between different fields of material movement and different concrete things; ② There are different connections under different conditions, and the connections change with the change of conditions; There are various forms of contact, including direct contact and indirect contact, internal contact and external contact, necessary contact and unnecessary contact, inevitable contact and accidental contact. Different connections constitute the existence and development trend within things and between foods.

The basic category of materialist dialectics means that the phenomena in the material world and their reflections in thinking have the fundamental characteristics of universal interconnection. As a general philosophical category, connection usually refers to the interrelation, interdependence, mutual influence, interaction and transformation between things or phenomena and their internal elements. In the infinite universe, connection is not a temporary and special relationship between individual things, but an objective and universal nature of all things, phenomena and processes; Nothing can exist in isolation, but it is related to other things; The world is a unified whole, in which everything is interrelated; Everything is a part, component or link of unified connection network, which embodies universal connection. Just like the existence and movement of the material world, the connection is infinite and eternal.

The universality of contact means that contact is universal, and all elements, parts and aspects of everything and all stages and processes of its development are interrelated. Everything in the world cannot exist in isolation, but is interrelated with other things around it. The whole world is an interconnected whole, and everything is a part or a link of the unified connection network. Adhering to the universality of contact is a dialectical view, while denying contact and its universality is a metaphysical view.

The universal connection of things is closely related to movement, change and development. The interrelation of things is manifested through the interaction between things, which will inevitably lead to the change of the original state or nature of things, that is, movement. From the eternity and universality of connection, the eternity and universality of development will inevitably be obtained.

All the laws and categories of materialist dialectics reveal the universal connection of things from the essential level. Therefore, only by mastering the viewpoint of universal connection can we deeply understand materialist dialectics and draw a clear line with metaphysics. A job must be placed in the connection with other things, and under certain time, place and conditions, the form and characteristics of its connection should be analyzed in detail, so as to understand its nature, find its movement development direction and law, and do a good job.

(3) The view of universal connection is of guiding significance to the construction of Socialism with Chinese characteristics:

The viewpoint of connection is an important theoretical basis for China to implement the policy of opening to the outside world. Only by linking China's socialist construction with the global development trend and formulating development strategies can China's economic development be accelerated.

(2) From the contact point of view, we must establish a global view, make overall planning and develop in an all-round way; Pay attention to the systematicness of things and the relationship between system and elements.
