Reflections on Extracurricular English Teaching in Primary Schools (I)
Time flies, and the years are like a stream. A semester's work is coming to an end. This semester is my first year working in an electric power school. Looking back on this semester's work, as a new teacher, I am very grateful to the school leaders and teachers for their help. Thank you for your support of my work. You make me feel that my colleagues help each other. I benefited a lot from the serious conversation between the leader and me, and I learned the working methods. Thank you for your tolerance and patient guidance. I believe that with the help of teachers and my own continuous efforts, I will definitely make English teaching in our school better. Next, I will make a brief report and summary on English teaching this semester.
First, teachers' morality and moral education
I have been in power school for almost a year, and I am in contact with children of all ages every day. From the kindergarten middle class to the sixth grade of primary school, I have been exploring and summarizing the differences of students' age span and each child's personality in one year's teaching practice, and gradually formed my own teaching style, and I have a taste and sentiment in the process of continuous contact and running-in with each child. We North Korean students are active and good at all kinds of sports. After class, they run and jump on the playground. They have happy time to play on the table tennis table. With such lively and active characteristics, managing students well and organizing students to have good classes have become the most important thing I think about. Many children in our school were brought up by grandparents, and their parents were away from their children for a long time. In addition, most old people dote on their children, which makes some children show selfish and unwilling to study.
In view of this situation, only by constantly learning from teachers and learning from each other's strengths can I grow and progress rapidly. The characteristics of primary school teachers need care and patience. I should do every little thing well and always keep the safety of students in mind. Although I haven't been teaching for a long time, I believe that as long as I work hard, I will eventually get the support and recognition of my work from students and parents, and I will reap every penny. When I came to Super Small, I was also infected by the professionalism of every teacher. The head teacher has inculcated every child in the class so that every student can study healthily and happily in a harmonious class atmosphere. Every teacher's professionalism is an example for me to learn.
Students appear impetuous in the final review stage and are unwilling to memorize something. After learning this situation, I patiently persuaded them that learning requires perseverance, and only with perseverance can we have a solid grasp of knowledge, instead of being arrogant and unwilling to work. No one gets something for nothing. Through the inspiration of students, let students realize that learning needs to overcome difficulties, and no one can casually.
Two. Self-accompaniment
This semester, I actively participated in the teaching and research activities in the district and the learning activities organized by the school, including the reply to the teachers' forum and the online continuing education. I also took seriously the lectures organized by the further education school. At school, I also have the opportunity to communicate with old teachers and learn their methods of organizing classes and managing students. I hope that by participating in these activities, I can enrich and improve myself quickly and become a teacher that students like and love. I will continue to work in this direction.
Three. teaching
Teaching practice
Conscientiously implement the routine teaching tasks. At the beginning of the semester, I carefully studied the English curriculum standards, worked out the English teaching work plan and teaching progress, and carried it out step by step in practical work. Actively participate in all kinds of teaching and research activities at all levels, take notes on teaching and research, seriously study and reflect, and better guide teaching. Prepare lessons carefully, attend classes, and write teaching reflections in time after each class. Through reflection, we should constantly improve the teaching methods, improve the teaching level, treat every student seriously and patiently, and teach every class well by heart. Assist foreign teachers to do a good job as teaching assistants and ensure the smooth progress of foreign teachers' classes. In the class discussion activities organized by the school, the leaders took time out of their busy schedules to guide my class, and all the teachers patiently commented on my class, which not only affirmed the advantages, helped me establish confidence, but also gave me many valuable opinions and suggestions to help my new teacher grow up quickly. Thank you, Director An, for your patient help and strong support in my work!
teaching activities
This semester, I pay attention to carry out some colorful and meaningful extracurricular activities in my class to arouse students' enthusiasm for learning. For example, in the class, the evaluation activity of "Learning Winners Group" was carried out, and students' classroom, homework and English ability were scored, which greatly stimulated students' interest in learning English, and students' enthusiasm for participation was high, which improved their enthusiasm for learning and enhanced their initiative in learning, and received good results. Some small-scale competitions have also been held, such as "English Handwritten Newspaper Exhibition" and "English Writing Competition". Through these activities, students' comprehensive quality is improved, their after-school life is enriched, and their comprehensive language use ability is cultivated. Abide by the regulations of the city teaching and research section. At the end of the term, we should insist on doing a good job in students' oral and listening tests, improve their listening and speaking ability, and lay a good foundation for future English communication. In the new semester, I will continue to carry out various activities to enrich students' campus life and make them more interested in English.
English test.
On May 27th, this semester, I conducted an English learning achievement test in primary and secondary schools. I was very careful from the registration, statistics and fees of graded exams to the pre-test guidance for candidates at all levels. I hope that through my own efforts, I can improve the passing rate of school English and win glory for the school. I use my lunch break every day to concentrate all the students who apply for the same level in the English classroom on the fifth floor for unified counseling before the exam. Candidates from matriculation to CET-4 are given targeted guidance in terms of examination precautions, answering skills and knowledge points. Prepare reference essays for candidates at all levels before the exam, and urge students to be fully prepared and take them seriously. Before the exam, parents will be given specific test sites and driving routes, so that parents can send their children to the corresponding test sites in time and correctly, so that every candidate in our school can sit safely in the designated examination room before the exam. I hope that through my own efforts, I can get parents' support and recognition for school work.
(D) final student assessment work
Make an evaluation list and evaluation criteria to evaluate students' comprehensive English performance this semester, and adopt process evaluation criteria to comprehensively evaluate students' learning attitude, classroom performance, homework, listening test and oral test. I cooperated with another foreign teacher in the English teaching and research group and made a detailed and comprehensive evaluation of every student from grade one to grade six. Let every student know his own advantages and disadvantages through comprehensive evaluation, and better improve and strengthen the weak links in future study, so as to make up for the shortcomings in study and achieve the real purpose of evaluation.
(5) Teaching and scientific research.
This semester, I have been groping and summarizing in my teaching, and I have actively written several papers, such as How to Improve the Quality of Education in Ethnic Primary Schools and English Teaching in Small Classes in Primary Schools. Through continuous exploration and practice, I think small class teaching is a teaching method suitable for our school. I will make more attempts and explorations in small classes, and combine the advantages of small class teaching to form my own unique English teaching style in my English class.
Pupils are a special group, and the way to communicate with students is very important. Although I have consciously improved these, there are still some shortcomings. How to manage students properly and educate students effectively is also a science. As a new teacher, I should pay more attention to continuous improvement. I believe that through my continuous efforts, I will constantly reflect on and summarize the problems encountered in this semester's work, adapt to the school's teaching work more quickly, consult and learn from teachers with an open mind, constantly sum up working methods, accumulate work experience, constantly enrich and improve myself, and strive to do better in my new job. Teach and educate people with your heart. The above is my summary of English teaching this semester. Thank you again for your strong support to my work this semester. I will turn gratitude into motivation and strive for greater progress in my future work!
Reflections on Extracurricular English Teaching in Primary Schools (Ⅱ)
What I feel this semester is more the warmth and gratitude of Pan Xiao's family. Warmth comes from frequent greetings and exchanges between colleagues; When I lost my temper when I was disappointed with my students, they warmly reminded me to learn to be calm, slowly downplay some things and understand that things have priorities ... Thank the leaders for taking care of me this semester, thank so many substitute teachers for their help, concern and understanding, and thank me for having a ride after school ... But I still have some regrets:
First, not sticking to the end has brought a lot of trouble to many teachers. For example, Xiaoqing, the head teacher, still needs her to finish a lot of aftermath. Teacher Mo Wen's instruction in English in their class lightened my teaching work.
Second, the things promised to the students in our class are not done well;
Third, I took time off without saying goodbye to my classmates, especially those in grade six, which may be difficult to meet. The subject teaching work in this semester is as follows:
First of all, talk about your own shortcomings.
I gave great hope to my sixth-grade classmates, who I brought from the third grade and have a good foundation. However, this semester is very different from the first two grades, and several transfer students have never learned English, which brings great challenges to my English teaching. Although I have made great efforts in English teaching, I still can't avoid the seriousness of polarization.
Second, let students win at the starting line.
This semester, I also took over the English teaching of Class 3 (2). At first, I really had a headache for the students in their class. They often don't do their homework, and they can't settle down to class. I think there are many hooligans in the class. But I think every student is "zero" to me, and they are all the same. I want to turn dislike into liking, neglect into attention, indifference into attention and thinness into kindness. I focus on helping them find their own strengths and weaknesses, so as to carry forward their strengths and overcome their weaknesses. Secondly, we should treat them with a normal heart: poor students are also children, and disgust and scolding can only be counterproductive. They should enjoy equality and democracy like other students, and they should also enjoy the love that excellent students get from teachers. Love poor students, I really move people with emotion: first of all, we must be "sincere", that is, we dare not be hypocritical and deceitful in front of students, so that we can keep our words; Secondly, we should "accept", that is, we can feel all kinds of psychological expressions and opinions of poor students in the learning process, such as fear, hesitation, satisfaction, indifference, wrong ideas and accusations, trust poor students and encourage them to discuss freely; Finally, the word "understanding" is achieved, that is, seeing things through students' eyes. Because I can understand them kindly and accept them happily, I have promoted the progress and development of poor students to varying degrees. By the end of the semester, I saw that students were willing to take my class, do my homework, go home and listen to the tapes, and then read them to me. Sometimes it's really touching, especially for underachievers. I gradually like giving them lessons. I think the scores of each exam should give students the greatest encouragement and interest. This should also be my biggest gain this semester.
Third, the work of the class teacher:
The job of a class teacher is to let students improve their ability, form habits and shape their personality. Trivial and busy. Therefore, to do this work well, we must spend a lot of energy and energy. This semester also made me feel that shaping students' behavior habits can not be done overnight, but must be done. Great changes have taken place in students. Although the number of students is small, their behavior habits and quality are not as good as those of the previous students, and they are sixth-grade students with strong autonomy and personality. It is really difficult for me to be a class teacher this semester. (1) Routine management. When I get to school every day, I first go to the class to see the hygiene of the class, the completion of students' homework and so on. At the beginning of the semester, according to the actual situation in my class, I defined the person in charge of each position. Such as: red scarf wearing inspector, two exercises inspector, class health inspector, desk inspector, discipline inspector, etc. At the same time, I use the class group to let the class discuss what primary school students should and should not do. (2) To be a teacher by example, set an example first. I think the biggest improvement in our class this semester should be hygiene. When I get to the classroom and see the scraps of paper on the ground, I usually don't let the students pick them up, but bend down to pick them up. By the end of the semester, most students will naturally form the habit of "looking at pieces of paper and bending down to pick them up". At the same time, when I get along with students at ordinary times, I always strictly demand myself to do "what students want to do, teachers must do it first". For example, if I teach students to be polite, I will also take the initiative to say hello and thank you, and the children will naturally answer me with polite words. (3) Strengthen the contact between home and school. Children's education is inseparable from the cooperation between teachers and parents. Children's performance at home can only be understood by parents, and students' performance at school should also be fed back to parents in time. Only by doing these two things can we get the effect of education. Therefore, in this semester, I actively kept in touch with parents, informed them of the performance of some children, discussed countermeasures with them, and communicated with many parents through home-school telephone or usual telephone. Of course, I haven't done enough, and there are many unsatisfactory places in class management. It can be said that the work of the class teacher has a long way to go. Someone once said that finding and solving problems is a process of growth and progress.
The above is my summary of teaching and the work of the class teacher this semester. Of course, it's not perfect. "The road is long, Xiu Yuan, and I will go up and down."
Reflections on extracurricular English teaching in primary schools (III)
In the process of English teaching in primary schools, teachers sometimes use games to cultivate students' interest in learning English, because games are loved by students. Singing, dancing, talking and acting in class are all very fancy and lively, so that students can accept the teacher's preset value orientation in happiness. But after a long time, we can easily find that many students' original enthusiasm for learning has dropped sharply, and their original interests are gradually disappearing. They will be listless because of the repetition of some games. In classroom teaching, we often encounter such a situation: before class, the teacher spared no effort to carefully design the game organization to attract students' interest; The students are walking around in the classroom, screaming and running, which is very lively. This kind of teaching order directly affects the teaching process of teachers, and the teaching links become a mere formality. Often after a class, students are ignorant and lack of knowledge; In the long run, students look at you in confusion with textbooks and don't know what they want to learn and master in books. It is not difficult to find the reasons, such as unreasonable arrangement of classroom links, failure to consolidate the knowledge learned in time and failure to spiral the knowledge up, which directly leads to abnormal teaching and students' poor academic performance. In the face of such frequent teaching crises, this can not but trigger our reflection.
Personally, I think that in the process of stimulating students' interest in the subject, we can't just stay on the surface of "living", "enjoying" and "playing" in class. We should pay more attention to the subject itself, constantly cultivate interest from the successful experience after learning, and tap the internal driving force of students' learning. In teaching, we should do the following:
First of all, for everyone, hierarchical teaching.
In the process of game teaching, it is inevitable to encounter how to treat excellent but poor students. The game we design should be centered on all students, with moderate difficulty and let everyone participate. According to students' personal qualities, personality characteristics, memory response speed, etc. , can teach students in accordance with their aptitude, hierarchical requirements, and promote students' continuous progress with the most effective incentive mechanism.
Second, well-organized, rigorous and orderly.
Do a good job in organizing the competition, so as to be orderly, lively and not chaotic. Pupils love sex games and are competitive. Some students get carried away easily, even in class, sometimes they can't help shouting. So, first of all, there are rules to be clear before the game starts. Discipline requirements, grading standards, nip in the bud. Even if there is some confusion in the game, we should understand the students' psychology, don't criticize blindly, but take the initiative to make it clear that everyone should abide by the rules in group activities.
Third, timely and moderate.
I don't think we can try to cover everything. There are too many games, but we ignore the teaching and training of the main teaching content. It is counterproductive to regard English class as a game entertainment class. Classroom games should serve classroom teaching. When they become a decoration or play for games, classroom games lose their charm.
