A paper on the theme of racism
Hello, my graduation thesis is about Faulkner's racial standpoint. His three novels are Light in August, Go, Moses and Grave Intruder. Light in August is Faulkner's first novel reflecting the theme of race. From this novel, Faulkner realizes more and more clearly that slavery and racism are the root causes of all problems in the South. Faulkner's writing time span in Go to Moses is more than one hundred years, which is his comprehensive and profound reflection on slavery and racism in the South. In Faulkner's later work The Intruder in the Grave, Faulkner has been looking for a solution to the racial problems in the contemporary South. These three works reflect the gradual deepening and development of Faulkner's thinking on racial issues, so they are representative in discussing Faulkner's racial position. Absalom, one of Faulkner's representative works, is also very representative. The significance of this work in the study of Faulkner's racial view lies in Faulkner's true and clear understanding that racism is the root of the southern problem. It can't be said that Faulkner's view of black people in that work is better, but it depends on which research angle you want to study. I provide some information for your reference:
